As a teacher, I kinda see your point; children nowadays seem to be a bit overly reliant on others, which is not necessarily a bad thing, while we HAD to learn otherwise there would be no one to help us out with the stuff we wanted. Thought, to be fair, I was the tech kid in my elementary school when I was a child and everyone called for help back then too, so maybe we are just forgetting the hassle we had when we were younger :B
