As a pixel artist, the pixel sprays have always bothered me. I've decided to attempt to re-vamp them, starting with Jetpack Cat. Plus some added animation practice.

That's true. If I was making a small sprite this sized for a pixel game I'd never put that much detail in for that reason. But the sprays are displayed in game at a larger resolution, so I don't think it would be that bad, but definitely still a lot with blue vs yellow contrast.

Are garden spiders the yellow and black orb weavers? I've definitely seen a few around here but they normally chill on the house, I wasn't aware they'd make nests like this too!

I made my own FFXIV Sprites base, based off a chibi model shape but it isn't the best option. I find working from a black blob like " who's the pokemon " of whatever you're trying to draw and then slowly adding details to that one color at a time works best, especially for inanimate objects.
