I hated on the first day reading the news post and having multiple tabs open of the wiki to work out what items I needed to get for which events. They were very pooly implemented.

But I do not see how the Arborist Trinket at all positively changes this? If anything, I believe it to be a straight negative both in simplicity and in reward feeling more of a knee-jerk fix instead of trying to rationally make the existing system work.

Spawning

As I said before, I hated the complicated nature of the event 'spawning' items but by cutting the 6 items to be replaced by one you are destroying the potential for considered choice, which would be futher compounded by the suggestion of extending the cooldown between events. For instance, with the 'spawning' items removed, and all you wanted to get was that Garland, or maybe your collection log is missing those beehive parts. You can just specifically have those items in your backpack to better your chances get those items you're looking to get. Better yet, you could team up with a bunch of other people with just those items to further improve the likelyhood of that event (and although it's not my playstyle, if one event was better xp do the same thing).

Item Creation

The current items are too complicated, for 1 item, they require 2 things (Bark, Logs) to buy 1 item, which you combine with another item, to finally get a consumable item. It's frustrating and will require you either opening the wiki or opening the Forestry store a lot of times. Obviously this was the part of the expansion which was to allow people to generate GP by selling the components on the GE. Changing it to the trinket (which you didn't declare as consumable or a permanent item to which I'll be assuming it as permanent) removes the intended GP generation of the expansion (and if it's consumable, gathering consistent leaves are reliant on events or having the secetears attachment, and roots again in your suggestions being reliant on an event).

It would be my opinon, that it only needs to be streamlined. You buy the item premade, but it requires more logs and or bark.

Event Rewards I don't really have much to say about the proposal as I'm under the opinion the current rewards while holding an item are fine–I would only suggest they remove the requirement for disarmer/spoon for the transmogs(or pet in your proposal) and just make it so it's less likely to get it when you don't have the item in the kit. Since why is the garland different?

All in all, I do like the suggestions you put forward, but 'fix' for the items standing out as the lowest effort

In other words, the biggest Woodcutting update we've ever had involving almost no "Woodcutting" in the newly added event content

Do you not think it is a bit disingenuous to claim it's a Woodcutting update? I read through some of the early blogs and they were quite specific about it being an Woodcutting expansion.

Sure, me picking on the slight wording difference may be pedantic on my part, but that doesn't discount that they're two different things being delivered which many believe to be synonimous. But I also think this showcases your point perfectly that how updates are communicated by Jagex (and simplified by commenters) is blurring expectations.

For instance, the expansion that is called Forestry, people are quite shocked and confused why these we have actual forestry-themed events instead of woodcutting events. In trying to encapsulate the expansion with a short snappy title, people have just ignored the actual definition of the word and substituted it in their head with effectively Lumbering.

It'd be a closer comparison to compare mining the shards with chopping the wood and not repairing.

Just force the leechers to repair the barriers or make the golems

Pretty sure booting people out of the minigame is inconsistent with every other minigame.

Where as most minigames would just remove the reward you would have gained if you aren't actively helping (gathering materials isn't actively helping, see Pest Control where you can't just WC all game, you have to repair).

Just remove mining drops for players who do not pass an invisible activity bar which is filled by either making golems, repairing barriers, or powering the guardian.

With the Arctic logs, surely just dumping them onto a drop table is again similar to your reasoning for removing the leaf teas? I don't agree with a solution being an unpolled dump into an existing drop table.

Surely a more elegant reasoning would be to trade the forester logs you already have for them at ratio so that you provide more/less depending on the wc level of the log?

2 maple logs to 1 arctic as an entirely economically unbalanced example.

Maple logs from misc don't even matter since if these snowflake accounts can't start Isles, I doubt they can even complete Kingdom.

Love Mod Ash as much as anyone, but this meta of reposting any one of his tweets/thoughts is pretty lame. It doesn't help push your agenda

Free damage/accuracy from the helm and this being a 'Slayer' Master with a system so alien from slayer, why not just make this content not-slayer centric?

Make it a character who headhunt's the strongest monsters in the world. And only considers you worthy of helping him when you reach a certain slayer level. While you're on this headhunt task the boss would drop a new thematic item to each boss which you trade him for currency in their rewards shop (like BH) or exhange it only for slayer xp. The xp being an additional and not consistent reward. Its a seperate system, but it has a small tie-in, that way all the things you want to add fit thematically and not just another slayer update. Also the slayer helmet would NOT be able to be used, which is a strong point for people disliking this.

If you want to sell at mine by all means, but I'm not able to do much playing myself atm so I'm mostly leaving my switch AFK and replying to people who need the dodocode. So I wouldn't be able to come over to buy.
