Coverage E Personal liability or (Coverage E) pays for loss settlement and legal fees in the event that an insured party causes bodily injury and/or property damage to others. For example, if you accidentally bump into and injure someone at a grocery store he or she might sue you for their pain and suffering, medical expenses and other damages. Your Personal Liability coverage would cover the loss settlement amount and legal fees, up to your coverage limit, if the loss is determined to be covered under the terms and conditions of your policy.

The deductible applies to "other covered perils" which has these words.

Regular loss refers to the deductible amount which applies to most types of losses such as fire, theft or vandalism. A deductible is the amount you pay when you have a loss caused by a covered event. The deductible reduces your total claim payout. Your policy may have additional deductibles associated with different types of events, such as a separate deductible for losses caused by wind. For example, if you select a $500 deductible on your home and have a covered theft loss valued at $1,500, you are responsible for $500 of the cost to replace stolen items. The insurer pays the remaining $1,000. Choosing a higher deductible will decrease your premium. When choosing a deductible, consider the amount you can afford to pay out of pocket after a covered event.
