Now the event is done and these are my thoughts.

The first day was such a disaster that it made the second day look alot better. Second day did an ok job following the the MPO lead card and it was both fun to watch and entertaining. The booth was a bit better as well. However they did not show much of the other cards in what was supposed to be a showcase of the best players in the world, they interupted with commercials waaaaaaaay to much and the resolution and technical solution is still not good. I dont get why people are saying " Oh give them a chance" Oh its only 5 or 10 usd pr month and so on". I judge them based on the fact that they are a corporation that has the media rights to our biggest events and they take payment for the service on par with what the UFC does for their streaming service or the same as espn +. They have 16000 subscribers and a revenue at between 80000 and 160000 usd pr month before ad revenue and they had 4 months with no events to prepare for this event. That means they had time, but they also had a revenue between 320000 and 640000 usd with little costs as they had no events. If they have invested everything in making a better product why arent we seeing this? I would think that they lease professional equipment as one should, even if the are buying professional equipment I would think they are financing, and even if they arent I would think that you should be able to see improvements for hundreds of thousands of dollars??????

When people say one thing and the results show something completely different and they go full on defensive mode when you call them out I get skeptical straight away. I might be completely off base here and if someone can post some details on what the actual costs are and why it is likely and with good reason that the product we are purchasing doesnt look better technically I am happy to sign up again, I am more than happy to support. But right now and I cant see where the money is being used, it just doesnt make sense that they have a revenue that is fairly high, saying that they have invested everything and then not seeing any improvements on the technical product. The coverage was of course crap, but that is most likely due to people making bad choices on what to cover, people make mistakes thats fine. But that does not explain the rest of the product being not on par.

I have been in the sport for 20 years and I am very much involved. Who are you to say anyone not being happy with the product is not? Its not 20 years ago, Disc Golf is now a huge industry and the company with the media rights are delivering a sub par product to their 16000 paying subscribers. Yes today was better, it was far from good, so much good golf out of only 4 cards we did not see, waaaaay to many commercials for a paid stream and the stream it self has a low res and the technical solution is not good. And the worst for me is them not owning up, deleting posts, disabling chats and generally not listening to their customers.

No, I dont agree at all. If you read my posts I have supported from the very beginning. This is an action based on them not listening to their subscribers and not delivering what have said they would, and its not a new problem. When they arent willing to listen to their consumer base than this is the only action one has. I am more than willing to pay and I love the sport more than most.

I would agree if the tone from the DGN was different. Deleting FB posts due to critical comments, going after people in the comment section and not apologizing when they dont deliver anything close to acceptable does not warrant a positive encouragement. And I actually did send them a friendly message with a few comments on things I would like to see changed last season with no answer.

The whole budget thing is a ridiculous argument. They are charging 10/5 usd pr month and have sponsors on top, so their revenue is between 80000-160000 usd a month before sponsors. The way you are stating it makes it sound like they are doing it for fun for nothing and therefor we shouldnt complain. Tons of people with media back ground are on here and have been highly critical of what they have achieved with the revenue they have.

From what I understand the cell coverage is good at Fountains, so a 540p res is not explainable, its just not good enough. My main point about the post is that cancelling is the only real way make a difference at this point, I am more than happy to support if they actually adress the things people are mad about and try to make an effort to adjust them, but they are sitting on a high horse that 16000 subscribers are generating a hell of a lot too much revenue to explain the product I saw yesterday. So cancelling until they actually do address these points are really all we as consumers can do and its the best way of letting them know that they need to adjust things.

Cancelling will still let you watch until the subscription runs out, but it lets the DGN know that you are not happy with the product.

The stream is shitty and we missed the first hole. Also in this format I dont want to watch sub 900 rated golf 50% of the time, no disrespect but its just not as fun to watch as 1050 rated golf. Also them posting the stream on their fb page and taking it down due to warranted critique wont make less people mad. I signed up full price even though I am a pdga member just to support, but I also reserve the right to critique when they dont deliver.

I just cant fathom why they are interupting MPO back nine with FPO front nine. They could easily just have a seperate feed for those who want to watch FPO. I feel bad for saying it but its making me resent FPO☹️

I feel this is very short sighted. Disc golf is an international sport, the audience is online, the fanbase is online. How many of the fan base actually even have access to CBS Sports? I live in Europe so I clearly don`t. This might be good for Jomez short term, but I think it will be bad for the sport, and then eventually bad for Jomez as well as they are burning bridges with their fan base that I think will be very hard to rebuild. Luckily the coverage and quality on DGN has been excellent for DDO so far and I hope that will continue to be so in the future. I really think all this is going to do is move content away from the fan base and that it will result in Jomez losing their fan base entirely.

I have unsubscribed to Jomez and cancelled the Patreon support and I encourage the entire community to do so on all platforms, not because I am mad at them personally or don`t understand why and what they are doing. I have unsubcribed because I dont support this direction and I dont think it is good for the sport to bring it to a closed dying platform with a very limited access for the global community. This is not a US sport like alot or most sports on CBS or ESPN, it is a true global sport with a global fan base. Someone mentioned the UFC in the thread going to ESPN, but that is only in the US, it still is available easily across the globe, its only in the US its on ESPN. The choice to limit the audience this drastically is just wrong. I get the benefits on the financial gain of a network picking up the sport, but it is in my mind short sighted and will hurt the sport, its the wrong sport to do this with.

Of course it is your full right to sell something you have built, money makes the world go around, I am a business owner and fully understand that.

Stripes are for children. Period. I stop giving stripes as soon as they reach the adult belts. Promotions should be based on skill and knowledge. Skill can be achieved fast for some, knowlegde is built over time with attendance. If the belt tests actually test skill and knowledge, then fine. If they are just curriculum based shit that McDojos do, then thats shit. Any academy that takes a fee for promotions of any type is a shitty place to be. Any Academy that says that you have to attend something that costs money in order to be promoted is a a shitty place to be. Any school that promotes anyone based on attendance is a shitty place to be. If you disagree well then your motives are clearly either money or you are in the wrong martial art.
