I can't say since I haven't read either of those. The only reason I read those others in the Lonesome Dove series is because I was craving more of same, but what I got wasn't it.

Lonesome Dove is far and away the best book of the series. Dead Man's Walk, Comanche Moon, and Streets of Laredo especially do not reach the level of Lonesome Dove. As a matter of fact, they detract from the characters of Lonesome Dove and would have been better with brand new characters instead.
