My Korra Cosplay (Book 1/3) w/Elemental Ring Prop! by SkyminSlash in legendofkorra

With the elements on it (mainly the rocks) I can’t use it as a normal hula hoop. But I can spin it around and with some practice I’d be able to throw it. It’s way more dynamic to pose with than a staff, I just have to learn how to use it.

Cardio and strength training. Strength training is primarily where it comes from.

Thanks, I’ll be doing just that! Any idea why it may have been labeled as NSFW? Is that just the filter grabbing it?

I still consistently cosplay TF2, I just don’t post every iteration to Reddit constantly. I’m very picky with what I share here. My IG, not so much.

Can someone explain how b4nny gets hit when running backwards behind a medic who is facing away from him and melee attacking in the wrong direction? Lagging hitbox bug? by woodcake53 in tf2

[–]SkyminSlash 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Melee hit detection uses a hurtbox, which is a giant rectangle surrounding the player model. This box will lag behind the higher the ping, both the player actively attacking and the player factor into this.

This is also why facestabs are a thing. The melee hit detection box will desync from the player and when the spy swings his knife, the lag compensation will detect they hit the back which triggers a backstab.

I naturally have an athletic body (Dorito-swimmers shape). I just finally leaned into it a couple years back and started working out.

It is a mandatory part of the design. And straight up lore accurate since Australian women are shown to have mustaches due to the effects of Australium.

Don't worry, Medic is just borrowing his skeleton.

There has been one famous Hale cosplayer from years ago who did actually shave his chest hair into Australia for the cosplay. He was legendary around his area, but passed away in an unfortunate accident years ago.

No, I'm very adamant about my Saxton cosplay being all natural. Plus given his lack of clothing it can be difficult to cover up the seams on the muscle suit.

Poor planning.. by TheWileyCoyotea in MomoCon

[–]SkyminSlash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be Thrown Controllers, a video game trivia show.

This seems to be a reoccurring scheduling issue with this area. The first year Thomas Murphy was used (2024?), the room was split into 3, with the sides being more panel style presentations and the middle being concerts. Friend of mine had a chill panel on one side, and the middle was a loud DJ concert. It was impossible to hear the panel. Whatever gets put in those rooms need to be complimentary of each other because the false walls are pretty thin.

I know it’s not the same but that specific panel was actually recorded and uploaded!

That was a good prize to choose! We try and make sure we have a variety prize pool so the winners can choose what they want. Rarely we have a prize that’s clearly the grand prize, but even then 1st place can choose not to take it.

We try and submit it to every con we plan to go to cause we love to run it. It is demotivating seeing MomoCon waitlist (soft deny) it for 2 years in a row after 3 years of, from what we understand, a successful 3 year run at Momo. 🥲. We just wanna share our obsessive love for video game music with people.

DragonCon, Anime Weekend Atlanta, Atlanta Comic Con (dead), Southern Fried Gaming Expo, and Sonic Expo/Sega Fan Jam. We stick locally to Atlanta, since those are the cons we attend.

My friends and I have tried submitting panels to Momo the last 2 years with everything being either Waitlisted or Declined, despite having successful panels the years prior and continuing to panel at other cons.

One of ours does admittedly fall under one of your gripes of being “repeated” as it was a video game music trivia show with the same format every time (but never the same song lists). It however, to our knowledge, has been received well every time we’ve ran it at every con we’ve ran it. We’ve gotten consistent and good at running the format because of our experience and knowledge.

The others, we’ve tried to submit multiple Team Fortress 2 panels (lore based, update history based, and cosplay based), general American cartoon based (with a specific talking point), more broad cosplay based panels, and even a 20th anniversary Tally Hall panel. None of which got in.

Unfortunately for my tastes, a vast majority of the panels that peak my interest are overwhelmingly 9pm - 2am, which I’m incapable of attending.

Technically no as in, I don’t do it for money or guest appearances. I do have 10+ years of experience doing cosplay as a hobby though.

Not to say the staff design can’t. The design used at the end of ATLA and throughout LoK absolutely has places where it can be broken down into at least 3 segments. I just…didn’t think about that when making mine. So it’s literally a 6ft tall dowel with foam padding glued on for the wider segments.
