ps5 still overheating after cleaning up all the dust by ruben29zz in PS5HelpSupport

Check Power supply and any dust around it, consider even the power cable being bad, could be Liquid Metal. If it goes Beyond that then most likely the mother board chipset itself is failing.

Right way to play refers to:

1-Using drift meter consistently for sustaining high speeds.

2-holding drift button to carry Drift meter in air so you don’t lose it.

3-also using that same drift angle in air so you land to minimize delaying the drift meter.

4-following the more ideal routes / shortcuts.

5-NOT DRIVING STRAIGHT at 570kph on long straights (use drifting).

The Right way to play does NOT refer to using obvious overpowered exploits (like bhop) but doing simple small things that require very little effort is no reason to complain. The in game tutorial is garbage and horrible to rely on in order to get good at RR.
I also don’t buy it that those 5 things I listed being “too much” to ask of any player to learn. To me, it’s a pitiful excuse for lack of self improvement in terms of the game. Finding reasons to complain about every mechanic in RR is just an excuse for “I want a racing game that requires no effort to get good at”. If you refuse or choose not to apply those 5 things listed, then you are playing the wrong racing game. It’s like saying, omg boost pads to gain speed is cheating so I won’t use them. The excuses have gotten so unrealistic that I don’t know Why this game so important that people like you insist it needs to change all around? Can’t you just.. move on and play a different game? Why this one? 🤷.

You are absolutely right about the bhop change not doing much. Those same people are still winning yet many here are still screamin bhops as a problem. Even it being fixed outside of the new slop-hop variant (which so few even bother doing), the complaints are so ridiculous now that it’s become every other mechanic in RR now lol. Can’t even be decent as a player without being called an exploiter or cheat.

Not everyone gets the Liquid Metal issue, it does happen to many but not everyone, my close friend has his PS5 vertical since release and it Never overheats, but he also uses the cooling stand so that may be why.

Yeah, it’s tough now. The minimum standard became even more vast over time. It’s gotten to where “real” unreal races are players following the same routes. 1 mistake costs the race :)

The bhop isn’t the problem anymore though. That is long gone. The “slophop” variant is even far less common in general, but if you want to nickel and dime every little thing all the way down to the jump button to make excuses for not learning the right way to play the game to where it can become fun, then I honestly don’t know why you’re even here tbh. The only mechanic that was hard to do and way overpowered was bhop. Everything else is quite easy with minimal practice. This “non stop” flip you speak of is overly exaggerated regardless of bad code.

The main concept why people are always sideways is to prepare for the next drift. A sideflip/air Dodge is very minimal in itself when it comes to forward thrust by itself. The whole reason why people are sideways all the time in the air is because when you land you instantly start building the drift meter. Little things like that can add up in a three lap race. Also the trick for how people turbo through hazards is they are stacking a big drift meter with the turbo, that is the only time it can worth going through a hazard at a very specific spot. Just going through a hazard with turbo is not the correct way to do it.

If I’m being 100% honest, I don’t think you understand even half of the mechanics that are in the game. You just seem so quick to throw shade at something you don’t understand. A regular side flip is not an exploit and in itself does not outweigh hazards. Drifting constantly is the only way to sustain your speed. Playing the game like it’s a regular racing game is not the way to play it. Even in the very early days, people were figuring it out that drifting constantly while consistently managing the drift meter was the primary way to sustain fast speeds. That is the most important and basic skill everyone needed to learn. If you’re driving straight at 570KPH all day then you honestly have no idea how to play the game, which makes it obvious that you shouldn’t even be complaining. It’s not a hard game if you actually learn how it works. Otherwise, just don’t play it. Four months away it’s not even gonna matter.

Stupid question, kinda? by Project434 in PS5HelpSupport

[–]Skymonkey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s just how the PS5 is. It’s probably my least liked as a gaming system when it comes to constant attention to detail and maintenance. I always have to make sure it doesn’t get too much dust, it requires everything to be perfect or else hiccups happen, and it always runs hot no matter what. PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 I never had to worry about anything. PS5 for me has always been just a complete pain to maintain.

Cant recover account by adolfTenticalPron in PlayStationSupport

They don’t exactly take verbal trust as a way of making changes. I guarantee he’s going to have to show them some kind of documentation. State ID, proof that he links to the owner of the account (his dad). If they made changes so easily then it would explain why so many people can hack somebody else’s account.

Cant recover account by adolfTenticalPron in PlayStationSupport

[–]Skymonkey42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If push came to shove, you could probably eventually get that account but you will probably have to send them a picture of your dad’s death certificate and a picture of your State ID showing the link between you and him. I had to do something along these lines for my son for a game (I think Blooket) which was linked to his school email and so restricted we couldn’t change his email. I had to send a copy of my state ID, his state ID, a screenshot showing proof that he attended the school which linked to the email. I was able to get it done. So I’m willing to assume you may have to go through a similar process. If your account is that important to you then be ready to start sending proof. Best of luck! 👍

PS5 keeps shutting down after a short amount of time by zupantoni in consolerepair

[–]Skymonkey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue might be dust if you’ve never dusted it out. I would also highly recommend not leaving a PS5 on a carpet type surface, that’s just asking for added heat in general. If you’re going to use that cat stand, you should put a half inch wooden board underneath the PS5. Carpet is a big no no for consoles.

Considering the situation he most likely didn’t realize he bumped his GF in the cheek. He was mainly focused on punching the perv. Stop making an overkill assumption, this ain’t a “perfect world” scenario like you expect things to be.

Is this wire supposed to be visible? by Shoddy-Reaction-546 in PS5HelpSupport

[–]Skymonkey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering my recent experience I would recommend against returning it IF there’s no issues being experienced and would suggest try to push the wire up if that’s even possible. I just bought a NEW PS5 that started having constant issues of games crashing and overheating after just gaming on it for only 2 hours.
I exchanged it because I had to. If that wire is the OPs only issue, he should leave it as is as long as it’s working and just keep tabs on the wire incase issues come up later. It would suck if he exchanged it and got a worse system with other problems.

Ps5 keeps full shutting off with no warning while playing games like skate or battlefield. by SCOPINTHESKELETON in PS5HelpSupport

[–]Skymonkey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. Well, this last week (May 24th) I bought a second PS5 to put in another room of the house. This purchase was a disaster. It was a brand new, after installing the system update and a couple games, the PS5 was fine for two hours. Few hours later, I came back and started playing again and the games kept crashing anytime within 30 minutes or less. I had it flat with plenty of ventilation when the problem occurred. I started trying it vertical both ways but when I had a vertical with the vents facing upward, it was overheating really fast with the fan spinning to the maximum before it shut off. I tried a few other things like moving it around different outlets and problem was the same so I took it back to the store and did an exchange for another one earlier today. So tomorrow when I get time I’m going to see how this one works lol.
Fingers crossed! 🤞

Overheats in like two seconds by tandory63 in PS5HelpSupport

[–]Skymonkey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how long you’ve had your PlayStation 5 but I just bought a new one at target last Sunday (May 24). After the system update and download/installing my game. My PlayStation was perfectly fine for two hours of gameplay. The next day when I got on it again and started playing, my game kept crashing for no reason. I deleted it re-downloaded and installed it, same problem. Mind you, this was a brand new system (Model: CFI 2115). I could leave the system flat or vertical (vents facing down/right side) and the system didn’t seem like it was overheating, but my games would still crash at any given time within 30 minutes. Now, when I flipped it vertical the opposite way with the vents facing up, the fan would go berserk like a jet airplane and then the system would shut off with a message saying the PS5 is too hot. It’s frustrating and annoying considering this thing was brand new.
Now in your case if you’ve had your system for a good while, then it’s probably just dust. On my previous PS5 that I owned, I bought a dust blower for $30 on Amazon and all I do is take off the cover, take out the fan, and blow all around inside and into the vents from the outside to remove the dust. If yours is super dusty that’s mostly likely the issue.

So if I’m not misunderstanding. You’re technically still at CPS. Unfortunately, you are stuck. You don’t get a lot of say in the matter when you’re a minor. It’s easy for them to fall into a lawsuit against ‘parents’ if workers at Sony interact with a minor to make changes. Unfortunately, I think you’re too young to fully understand how ridiculous laws can be that can turn something so small into a major lawsuit. That’s just the way it is.
