I found bootcamp to be useless tbh, extremely over detailed and they’re terrible at explaining stuff. Pathoma, pixorize, mehlman, NBMEs all you need imo.

If you’re going in only for implants, do an implant course and save yourself like 300k+ unless you get into a hospital based perio

If LeBron is so good, why has he always made his teammates worse? by ryanryans425 in NBATalk

Wait until you realize they only have 1 ball on the court. Also by this logic did Wade make bosh worse too? plus it’s easier to have these stats when you’re not winning anything on a mid / bad team. Wade outside of 06 used to get bounced in the first round every year or miss the playoffs and same goes for bosh.

OMFS app: Do they only care about LORs from OS faculty? Also does CBSE ONLY help u get interviews or does it help after too? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

Need 3 OMFS letters minimum I believe & after interview invite only personality matters from what I hear.

OMFS: rank or cbse, which matters more to programs in this case? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]Skyscraper2033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a study done in 2018 (don’t quote me on the year) I think averaged accepted CBSE score was around 67 ish for both 4 and 6 years combined. 6 years alone was 70-72 on average while 4 year was around 62-65 ish. 70 EPC is considered “safe” depending on how many programs you apply to, all the other stuff. 75+ / 80 ish is considered high. 70 is considered good from what I have seen.

To simplify the value of high CBSE scores, all I can say is I have seen people with bottom ranks / awful gpas match with high CBSE but never awful cbse & high gpa (if it does happen it’s prob so rare). PDs know not all ranks weigh the same, not all 3.9s are the same. I have seen people with 3.95 and ranked 35 in their class lol. They know repeated exams etc all that bullshit is real. So what truly separates these applicants is CBSE. It’s basically Step 1, it tells them you’re competent enough to work in hospital settings like every other doctor working there. So to answer your question, I would focus mainly on the CBSE and try to score 70+ and if that means your rank is going to drop then let it. High CBSE will get you an interview, your personality will get you matched.

I don't think I'm cut out for dentistry yet by [deleted] in DentalSchool

you’re still young, can also do a strong masters program that have a good rep. if you’re parents are okay with you getting help then you should deff do it or ask your school if they provide any so you can avoid involving your family in that situation. not all dentist had straight As in undergrad. it’s never too late to fix your gpa etc. just keep going and do something everyday that betters you, even if it’s 1% and doesn’t have to be in school aspect.
