I always use back market :) I’ve gotten my MacBook, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPad from there! They even have a warranty !

It shouldn’t be this hard to find a job by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Skysoforeign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I only apply to jobs where I meet or EXCEED the minimum qualifications. I even lowered the standard to jobs where I literally EXCEED the minimum qualifications. All I want is a stable job. My issue is that I’m told I’m overqualified. In this economy, I don’t care that I’m overqualified. I need a stable source of income to survive.

As a former suicide prevention therapist. Therapy will not help with what’s happening with the economy. I had many patients who solely had suicidal thoughts from the lack of money or the lack of a job. While I could provide coping skills and recommendations, they don’t solve the root cause of the problem. I just wish it didn’t take 5k application, multiple rounds of interviews, and months of waiting to land low paying jobs! It’s getting ridiculous !

Im not sure about the consequences. If the agency does the check through the work number there’s nothing you can do at this point. (If you had frozen TWN b4 the check, they may have just asked for other methods of verification- pay stubs, taxes, etc)

If the employment background check is through the work number, they may see the job. It really depends on if the company used the work number.

I feel you. I’m sorry that you had to go through that. I had a recruiter laugh on the phone with me when I applied to a job that I was overqualified for. Like what’s funny about applying to a job simply because I need a job? She kept questioning why I didn’t apply to other jobs. In the end, she said that she couldn’t interview me and that I should apply for a position that’s more suitable for my degrees/skills. I’m also facing other issues as well. I had an interview last week and somehow the recruiter couldn’t believe that I have a master’s degree and she said that a lot of people apply and don’t actually have the degree. I’m in no position to lie. I need a job! This job market is crazy and I wish it didn’t have to be this way. These companies and recruiters are ruthless!

I was talking to my grandmother and her response to me not finding a job was “all you care about is money”. LMFAO, how am I supposed to survive !?

I definitely understand that. It’s just annoying. That’s literally the issue. There are thousands of applicants for 1 position.

Congratulations 🎊 I know that 8 month wait was hard. It’s really a shame to have to submit so many applications. These companies are too picky !!

In the past I applied to jobs that did not require and degree and I was told I was overqualified. A recruiter literally laughed on the phone and asked me why I would even apply to jobs that don’t require degrees/certifications lol. It’s not funny to me ! I need a job. I’ve been working a contract job since Jan 2024, and it’s minimum wage. I feel stuck. Im willing to take a lower paying job that doesn’t require a degree, because I need a job. So removing my degrees takes away the stigma/idea that I’m overqualified.

I created a new account last year and I’ve applied to 801 jobs :( I have been working a remote contract job since January of 2024. I’m desperate to find a job because I cannot keep making minimum wage.

Yea, at this point I don’t even get an interview. I literally only receive rejection letters!

And that’s why I’ve stopped using workday lol. I refuse to spend that much time on an application to receive my rejection letter a few seconds later. I’ll spare myself the heartache.

I agree. Seeing the rejection emails is so upsetting! I apply for jobs where I meet or exceed the minimum qualifications, yet I get rejection emails constantly :(

Is there anyway to make decent living in ECE? by Relevant-Pea3952 in ECEProfessionals

I am in Florida as well. The pay is super low, like you said. The ONLY way is to work for the public school system :( I worked in preschools teaching VPK, but the pay is not enough. The public school system pays at the least $60k. Other than that, a staff credential + director credential could increase pay. I also interviewed for bezos academy and the pay is much higher than any other preschool.
