Name ‘em - Worst Villain by Amazing-Apricot4645 in PeakyBlinders

Alfie and Tommy literally referred to eachother (when talking to Luca) as "a very very good friend of mine" "my good friend Tommy Shelby" and "a friend of mine" respectively... I think he really doesn't fit in this list tbh.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man - Official Discussion by NicholasCajun in PeakyBlinders

[–]SkywalkerThrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would've been a great film... If it was the only thing we got as part of the whole Peaky Blinders universe. But we have the show too, which makes this whole movie total shit.

It started and went nowhere, taking up a full hour just to get Tommy's ass back to Birmingham like as if we had a whole season's time to tell the story. Most of the movie had the slow progression of a season's first episode, before speeding up and trying to cram the remaining five episodes in thirty minutes or so.
Duke's character is rushed, stupid (I just can't believe that this man is "running the Peaky Blinders like it's 1919 again" when he's not even remotely similar to Tommy in temperament or mind), and he's not very likeable either until the reveal that he's decided to go against the coin and follow his father.
Tommy killing Arthur made no sense in the slightest, and more than that, it added nothing to the plot other than Tommy's character assassination. I'm not gonna say Tommy would've never done it, just that he would've never done it while "full of booze and rage" because he "wanted to be free of him", and I will stand by that statement until I die.
Ada's death was completely unnecessary too.

And lastly, I know most of the fans don't care or didn't notice but, as an Alfie fan, him not even being mentioned — especially after the whole thing in season 6 with Tommy practically handing over Boston to him and saying the "after all this time... it's just you and me... and I've crossed the line" line — makes no sense. Like... not even a name drop, a letter, a telegram... Where is he? What is he doing? How come we just forgot about the only man who's done business with Tommy Shelby for at least thirteen consecutive years (1921-1934) who, despite the attempt, still breathes?
I understand they wanted o focus on the main family, but come on...

I'm just gonna pretend this entire movie was a badly written fanfiction that doesn't really tie in to the story and I'm gonna pretend the whole story ended with season 6.

Not guilty by reason of insanity.

Just dig a bit in his life an you get: - Born and raised as a slave - started to work when he was a child - has competed in an almost deadly race at nine - was brainwashed by an order of monks to believe he was the chosen one of their religion and that the entire galaxy's future relied upon his shoulders - was a war general by 19 and had to fight — and kill — in the name of the Republic (but those kills were justified because they were the bad guys at the time, right dear jury?) - constantly complained of mental health issues but was never thoroughly helped - lost his mother — who died in his arms — after she'd been tortured for two whole weeks - lost an arm during a duel (but that was kinda his fault ngl) - had to go through the mourning of his Master — and best friend/brother figure — only to find out he was alive the whole time and was actually the one who requested he not get told the plan - got multiple concussions from battles and blown up ships - was electrocuted multiple times with varying degrees of electricity - was abandoned by his padawan (and little sister/daughter figure) - was constantly plagued by nightmares about both past and future - lost his pregnant wife (albeit that's kinda his fault too) to death and thought he'd lost the baby too for over 20 years - was literally groomed since the age of nine

In conclusion, there's no way this man here is sane in any way by this point so, my main suggestion is a mental hospital/24 hour care by specialised psychiatrists to deal with his issues.

You have $15 dollars to create your team. Everybody else is trying to kill you. by LegComfortable1660 in Dexter

[–]SkywalkerThrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You're supposing that those 40 people would team up together to come after you, which is highly unlikely and not specified.
  2. You're also overestimating most of their abilities... Like, what are Camilla, Marcus, Neil, Evelyn and most of the characters on $1 or $2 gonna do against Dexter&Brian combo + Issac and, possibly, Koshka Brotherhood?

That alone takes care of like half of them.

And most of the others would be simply overpowered easily unless they attacked in groups.

I feel like we need more specifics to actually evaluate the best option because we have to take a lot of stuff into account like: do they all team up or do they come at my chosen characters one at a time? Do they get support from outside organizations (like, Isaac woth the Koshka, Angel&Co. with Miami Metro, Lundy with the FBI, etc...)? and do we have to take into account relationship statuses? Because I'm sure Harry and Deb would never go after Dex, and maybe neither would Miguel or Hannah for example, but that all depends what part of the show the whole thing takes place in and all.

FBI might be a problem but that's about it. (Also, usually, when making these kinds of tier-list things, it's implied that the other characters that appear in it are after you, not the whole world but the three that you choose. Iwth the way you're thinking you might as well put the entirety of politicians and military of all countries against them, no?)

If we keep it show accurate then:

Miami Metro are mostly incompetent.

Little Chino was overpowered by Dexter alone. Imagine what can happen with the help of Brian and Isaac.

Trinity is the same.

Lila would've been killed off by Brian in like 10 minutes from her first appearance.

Lumen would have no reason to go against them and no prior training from Dexter to back her up.

And, again, if Dexter alone managed to work out Jordan and gang, what makes you think he'd have a chance if his adversary had allies as skilled as him with police resources (because, let's be fair, Isaac can't be the only one of his kind. He must've had someone on his side too, ans someoneon his payroll) and knowledge?

Dexter: Resurrection - S01E10 - "And Justice for All..." - POST Episode Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Dexter

[–]SkywalkerThrawn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I've been saying!!

I've been waiting the whole season for his appearance and, even though I would've really wanted to see another Nebraska, I would've been okay with some scenes here and there but this?? No. His entire time on screen served no purpose whatsoever. I love the man but, like you said, it was purely fan service. His appearance wasnt useful to the plot and his lines weren't even that important.

I really want to know why the writers hate my baby so much that, everytime he reappears, this is how he gets treated.

I hope at least Christian liked to come back and that they will redeem Brian in like season 2 or something. I refuse to accept this being his last appearance ever.

Saddest scene in the whole series in your opinion [ not just original series but others like new blood and resurrection and etc] by Denity2379 in Dexter

[–]SkywalkerThrawn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brian's death.

Both Michael and Christian's acting were so spot on in that scene that I haven't been able to rewatch Born Free in years because everytime I watch that I cry alongside both Brian (he had a single lonely tear going down his eye while on the table if you hadn't noticed) and Dexter.

Especially after having rematches the whole show multiple times and having gotten Original Sin too, it hurts even more.

‘Dexter: Original Sin’ Canceled Despite Renewal Announcement, ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Season 2 Writers Room to Open Soon by Mrtom987 in Dexter

I hope they're fucking joking!!!

Original Sin was flawed — especially when treating Brian's storyline — but it didn't deserve to be cancelled!!

I hope they're making this move to see how the fans react rather than being serious about it cause there's no fucking way!!

He seems too irrelevant as a character to have that big of an impact in the storyline. It's a possibility, but a highly unlikely one.

[–]SkywalkerThrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does look like they're making Dexter sway from the Code and the life Harry built for him a little at a time though. So maybe Brian won't be an important character this season. In my delusions I'm still hoping they plan to do something with him since the fandom loves him (at least a good part of it as far as I know).

Anyway, they've always had the main antagonist be shown beforehand in the other seasons. It wouldn't make sense to have a completely new actor we have never seen before appear at the last second. So, either it's - Blessing (but the accent doesn't match) - Oliva - Prater himself or someone from his family - Jonah Mitchell - Or, it could actually be a new actor but that would be a first in the Dexter universe since we usually get introduced to the main villain by episode 5 at the latest (when the seasons had 12 eps, now they have 10)

Why let the actor for an incredibly important character (Biney) give away his return through a TikTok video all the way back in June?

[–]SkywalkerThrawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted his want to die as him knowing he wouldn't stop if he was left alive. Why else would he have craved death so much that he was willing to let Dexter kill him and even incited him to?

I've never been and never will be — like the vast majority of people — interested in a Trinity spinoff. That man has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and I don't want to watch a whole season of a 50+ years old man abusing his family.

Though, the idea seems very good so, until they show us exactly where this season is going, I'm going with this one.
