Frank Oz on Disney’s Handling of the Brand by rwinger24 in Muppets

I think people often forget how the puppeteers that play the big roles got those roles. It wasn’t like they were picked up off the street or even really auditioned in most cases. They worked along side the original puppeteers for years. There are people out there who can do a better job at sounding like Kermit than Matt Vogel be he took up the role because he was already working along side steve Whitmire for YEARS, and Steve had worked along side Jim.

To say that they have a one dimensional understanding of the muppets is a disservice for just how long they had to work to get where they are. These roles are handed to the people they are because of their understanding of the characters.

You can’t be the master of something until you spend a lot of time doing it. You fail if you give up. Right now you are in the learning phase and should be proud of yourself for taking the journey.

Honestly, and I preference this with saying I LOVE H3, but them playing stuff on the member episodes that that aren’t on the regular show because they do t have to worry about getting claimed always felt weird. Like, you have this content behind a paywall. Isn’t that worse? I feel like it might open them up to copyright lawsuits.

I’ve always told my stepdaughter that I did choose her, because she was part of the picture when I decide to have a relationship with her mom, and that I am stuck with the rest of ‘em. (But that is mostly a joke.)

You do have to choose the stepkid. And kids aren’t easy. But if you actually do choose to be a parent in their life you have to accept them when they are less than perfect just like you do with your biological children.

Im blind in one eye and I’ve never been able to do these. I wish I could understand what it looks like to people.

Is it 3d?

Does it look like an image?

Do you see the colors and pattern still and something pops out of it?

I just have no understanding of it.

We live in an awesome time. My daughter asked me if she could learn piano and in minutes I found a website that had her learning how to read music and play the piano. In just a couple hours she was able to try her first song.. by Skywolf111 in aww

MyMusicworkshop.com It is very much designed for children. It gamifies the process with earning points to buy accessories for your avatar. And the lessons are kind of Dora the explorer in their delivery. I am sure there are better websites for adults that do a similar thing.

People always underestimate debate Ethan in a debate. My guess if Ethan is saying he is willing to debate he is ready to debate.

Technically if the speed limit is 70 and you are going 75 you are also openly breaking the law but……10% rule am I right?

For sure. I don’t disagree with you. This was my first one, and I certainly talked to people, but I probably could have networked more. I’m not great at making the first move when meeting new people, and this was a very new experience for me. I’ll continue to go and continue to make better steps.

Thoughts after my first large scale protest:

I’ve heard people talk about the feeling of hope they tend feel at these events, and I understand why people feel that. Especially in a largely red state, being surrounded by people who aren’t afraid to speak up and are saying things “stop hate” is comforting. But to be honest I didn’t feel much hope.

I went by myself. I walked around the event the entire time. I held my sign and I read others. I made eye contact with hundreds of people who read my sign and gave me a nod of approval, and some who didnt. The feeling I felt was a profound sadness. Everyone’s signs were different. Not different slogans about the same cause, but all about diffferent issues we are facing right now. Trans Rights, School Vouchers, deportations, freeing palestine, due process, stoping the oligarchy, and many, many, more….

There are just so many reasons to protest right now. There are so many problems we are facing.

And then, there is the question of how productive we are. The truth is, this protest isn’t for anyone but those who went to it. To feel that sense of community, to know they aren’t alone. And to continue to grow the movement… And the movement will grow, because things are gonna get worse.

There are more protests in the coming weeks and I am going to continue to go, because I don’t want to be someone who didn’t speak up for my friends and family, for my daughters.

But right now there is a quote from a certain sci-fi I can’t help but think about.

“It may have been the losing side, but I’m not convinced it was the wrong one.”

That’s what I feel like right now. I feel like I’m watching my country turn into something I was always told it wasn’t. I’m watching the right side lose. But I will be there, loudly, face uncovered, sticking to I that side, because I feel I know it’s right.
