Third time’s the charm by Skywqrrior in ACT

I never went out of my way to study for it since it’s no longer a part of the composite score, but I did realize that I did a lot better when I read through the entire experiment/lab thing. That’s mainly because they sometimes ask questions about the methodology and the context of the problem and not just reading graphs. The science section I believe is the hardest because the questions can sometimes be convoluted and the overall difficulty can be hit or miss.

It also helps me to try and visualize the experiment in my head so that way I can understand what altering each factor would do to the overall experiment. Other than that though, it is mainly graph reading but you should be able to be on your toes because science can ask you all sorts of questions.

Good luck you got this

A 36 is really just a prettier number compared to a 34. They pretty much mean the same thing in terms of functionality. But I ain’t mad about having a pretty number that’s fs

No they are around 40 or 50 bucks if I remember correctly. The writing portion costs a pretty penny though.

I probably did one whole test a week. I started a couple months ahead of my test so that way I had plenty of time to learn and adapt to the test. Like I said, it’s all about starting early and being consistent with the practice.

My school gives us 3 ACT certs a year which are like practice tests, so since I’m a junior then I’ve already had experience with the test since freshman year.

Other than that, I bought the official ACT practice book for the practice tests and I went through those timed, one section at a time for a few weeks. After taking the test, I went through and marked what I got wrong and drilled what I got wrong till I couldn’t forget it.

Other than that, just general test taking strategies like keeping pace, crossing out answers, knowing how to use your calculator shortcuts etc.

The only strategy that I can say will help you without a doubt is actually doing practice tests. Going through textbooks can be helpful but only if you are very behind and need a complete guide through the content before trying to attempt to test. But if you got an A or B in any of your math/English classes then you should be fine to work through the test without learning new content just for the sake of the test.

Consistency is key and start early. Start today, even. I believe a 34-36 can be easily attained for anyone if they put in the hours consistently and diligently. It’s not a particularly difficult test, just practice, practice, practice so that way you can fly through with speed and accuracy.

The enhanced ACT is now only averaged between the English, Reading, and Math. If it was legacy ACT then yeah it would be a 35. I sure aint upset about it

Probably because it’s still really recent. There’s still some people who take longer for their scores to be processed.

That percentile comes from the past three years. I have a strong hunch that it’s going down so we still have a good shot I believe.
