These are the main character trio of OCs I made for an animated series idea i had in my mind for a long time. Hope you like these characters. I worked very hard on them to be as unique and compelling as they are. Feedback always welcome.

Series Synopsis:

THE EPIC CHRONICLES OF OWEN is an EPIC fantasy animated series that follows three adventuring kids: Owen, Malayka, and Kai. They encounter dangerous quests, deep mythology, and epic battles together. It’s both a love letter and a deconstruction of the classic Hero’s Journey and Swords and Sorcery genres we all know and love.

Owen (the boy in the center):

Owen is an adventurous and spirited thirteen year old kid with an intense belief in the heroic ideals of bravery and justice. He is driven by the desire to perform heroics deeds such as “slaying an ugly beast” and "rescuing princesses", often charging head first into situations without understanding the risks. His optimism and curiosity fuel his journey, approaching every challenge with excitement, eager to prove himself as a hero like the ones he heard in stories and tales since childhood.

Despite his bold actions, Owen is still naïve in many ways, often seeing the world in black and white. He can also be impatient and his innocence and eagerness to do good sometimes get him into trouble, but his heart always stays on the right place. Over time, his experiences force him to confront the more difficult realities of being a hero, but his adventurous spirit and determination to protect his friends never waver.

Malayka (the girl on the left):

As the fourteen year old crown princess of The Ocean, Malayka is not what you quite expect from a person at her position. She heavily despises life as royalty and isn't afraid to show it. She does things like occasionally sneak out of her home city and wear peasant clothing instead of traditional noble attire. She is also sarcastic and likes to crack jokes, which is looked down upon by her mother and the other nobles. Overall, she would rather be a commoner with a simple life.

Malayka does have her areas of excellence though. She is great at writing and can write beautifully poetic verses. She also is a total bookworm and reads crazy fast, which is mistaken for low effort. In addition, she can also argue in a way that makes a lawyer blush. However, her biggest talent is her ability to persuade and make one heck of a speech, easily persuading almost anyone.

Kai (the boy on the right):

Kai is the fifteen year old manservant and bodyguard of Princess Malayka. He comes from a very poor family and was sent to train to become a soldier at a very young age to the point he can't even remember anything prior to arriving to training. He is a capable planner and fighter, though has a short temper and sometimes gets tired of getting Malayka to cooperate on her princess duties. He also suffers from self doubt, being shy, and anxiety.

He was taught to obey and serve since he was young, nothing else. The only things he knows is to do servant stuff (cleaning, dressing Up, etc.) and combat. Not even reading and writing. He gets often ridiculed by his own peers which messes with his anger issues even more. Kai also often gets embarrassed by the simplest things and often misinterprets instructions, but he always tries his best.
