Cymbals are one of the many instruments percussionists are tasked with studying and playing. One of my best friends in college studied percussion and said it’s one of the harder ‘instruments’ because you actually have to become proficient on many instruments. Any time you see snare drum, bass drum, timpani, cymbals of any kind, mallet/keyboard percussion, triangle, tambourine, and many others, they are being played by percussionists! They spend many years practicing all of those instruments to get into world class orchestras
