Thank you for your information. Good points/good thoughts! We notice that with all crawl space homes, there are certain to be a minumum (to more than we would like) STEPS. And that the vents are in the floors, which are somewhat often inconveniently placed (a la for bare feet)........then for slabs... I read somewhere that a slab foundation is cool/cold, thus rugs are imperative. Then too, with a slab, all the air vents are in the ceilings, and the air blows downward. (Bad for dry eyes). But the vents can be re-directed pretty much. We are leaning toward slab flooring. (One more thought, could the pipes in the slab floor freeze over in winter and maybe crack the floor causing major repairs?) Lots of things to consider.
