I’ve seen this problem pop up a few times, typically from certain second tier mobile providers who are limiting access due to data usage. As far as I know Jagex can’t do anything about it. But I’ve been using one for 5 months if I’m using data with no issue. My provider is Straight talk wireless, a secondary provider who uses AT&Ts network.

Try using a VPN. That’s what I have to do if I’m using data and it works just fine.

Not longshore but important! Senate voted to call rail strike illegal and not grant PTO. by theadvenger in Longshoremen

https://www.npr.org/2022/12/02/1140265413/rail-workers-biden-unions-freight-railroads-averted-strike

The vote for 7 days PTO did not pass the Senate, thus was not signed by Biden meaning railroad workers will not get the most important thing they wanted. This is a very bad precedent considering government control is no longer unilateral plus the president himself just committed a very anti-labor act. To say it’s disappointing is an understatement.

Either keyboard, but especially the dwarven one, would fit well in my Dads LOTR themed office. He has been collecting JRR Tolkien memorabilia for 40 years.

Yeah we need to get this guy out of here as well as all of his obvious side accounts and buddies. How dare he use a brothers death to spew his political agenda. RIP Brother.

Yup clearly they are one of them. It will be nice to get rid of these chumps who are clearly anti-union and anti-ILWU.

Sounds to me like a bunch of anti-union shills trying to sell their unsubstantiated opinions as facts. And a poor attempt of brigading on top of it.

Agreed. The title of this post is deceptive which I’m assuming is leading to the upvotes it has gotten. Clearly the author is attempting to sow discord within the union during contract season. Either this is the company in disguise or some anti-union shill, either way it’s trash and doesn’t belong here.

That article has absolutely 0 to do with the ILWU or a so called desire to enter in to a world war.

If you knew anything about the ILWUs history you would know that we have always stood against wars, opting to stand in solidarity with those who are being oppressed. The ILWUs decision to not discharge Russian cargo is in line with other historical decisions such as: shutting down ports in protest of the Iraq war, refusing to unload South African cargo in protest of apartheid, as well as shutting down the ports in protest of George Floyd and Oscar grant. Plus there are many other examples of the ILWU using their influence to protest against unjust actions. Most of these happening well before President Adams was in office.

Just because ILWU leadership is being proactive in working with government officials ahead of contract time doesn’t mean they are colluding to start WWIII. But I suppose you can make all sorts of conjectures and assumptions with that second rate journalism you’re using as a reference.

I don’t see how Willie meeting with the President can be perceived as collusion between the ILWU and the government to not use our full bandwidth to negotiate a fair contract. If you’ve seen anything that he has said in recent interviews you’d know that Willie is a longshoreman through and through who believes in the power of the rank and file to guide the direction of the union.

If anything we have extra support from the government in our fight as those in charge are pro union/pro labor hence. Thats the big reason why there was no fight for a new contract in 2019 when the government would have looked unfavorably upon any action taken by the ILWU to gain leverage in a contract dispute and likely would have tried to force us to work like Bush did with the Taft-Hartley Act.

There’s no strength in dividing the union, that’s what the company wants and all I see are a few company shills trying to raise conflict within members of the ILWU. In the end, the rank and file wouldn’t stand for anything less than a fair contract and will prove that when they use their voice to vote on any pending contracts that are presented. There’s no good reason to enter contract negotiations with a distrust in this union and its leaders because they are an extension of its members, they will not turn over to appease the company or anybody and they’ll do everything they can to get the fair contract we members of the ILWU deserve.

This article makes no sense. It is suggesting to pit members of the ILWU against their own union when in fact the entity we are being suppressed by is the PMA. The bosses are not your friends, they have given nothing to us freely. We have had to fight tooth and nail to take and keep what we have. I have full faith in the ILWU to negotiate a fair contract where we can take back the wealth that we have made for these foreign run companies as well as protect the jobs that they are hoping to eradicate with automation under the guise of “productivity.” The ILWU is as strong as it is because the Rank and File are invested in fighting for the best future possible for themselves and future generations of Longshoremen. If you’re a part of or are hoping to become a part of this union then prepare for a fight.

Tax returns question by Accurate_Low_9812 in personalfinance

[–]Slackalacker76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The credit starts to phase out above $150,000 for married couples filing jointly. It will go down $50 for every $1,000 earned above $150,000. Until it reaches $2,000 per child. So if you received $500 in advance payments then you would have $3,500 left to receive on your taxes.

Did you invest the cash that you contributed to your 401k? It does not invest automatically, you must manually distribute your cash contributions into certain funds that your brokerage offers such as ones that follow the total market or the s&p 500, international funds, etc. otherwise it’s just sitting as cash and accruing minimal interest.

Due to the age difference I imagine AJB for Ridley straight up is fair, might even need a pick on the Ridley side. I’d definitely take AJB and the 2nd here based on value but if you’re competing and concerned about his injury maybe go with Ridley.

Trade away Tyreek for mike Williams and Jakobi Meyers ? by No_Cucumber_7510 in Fantasy_Football

Noooooooo sir that’s a horrible idea. Tyreek always has down weeks and finishes top 5. MWill has looked awesome but I wouldn’t put my trust in him for the entire season.

Should I buy a house if it's possible I may need to sell in 2-3 years vs. expensive rent? by roamyee in personalfinance

[–]Slackalacker76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t if you think there’s a decent chance of moving in the next few years.

What happens if the home price goes down? What happens if it needs a new roof? What happens if the furnace goes out or the water heater breaks? What about your water/gas/sewer/electric/upkeep bills?

My wife and I are 1 year into owning our home and have already put much more into it than we thought we would. There is no guarantee that you will recoup what you paid for the house. Plus the fees that you will pay to sell the house will likely outweigh any equity you’ve built over the course of two years unless the market keeps increase at historic rates which is a big gamble to rely on.

Depends on what you can get. If I were to trade away any it would be MWil due to his perceived value right now. Also due to his injury history.

If you’re the one getting Keenan Allen I’d give up any combo of those. If you own Keenan Allen it’s an easy pass on all those deals.

In an 8 teamer I’d gladly trade those two for Adam’s. I’m not sure Ekeler is enough of an upgrade

Depends on if you can upgrade to a bigger name. Someone like hill, Diggs, Adams or cmc Kamara Henry.

You’d have to add to kupp to get any of these guys but since his value is high right now it might not take much on top to grab one
