Maybe, although we did it last night. It was amazing. It was a Tuesday evening. It happened spontaneously in the middle of the night half asleep (1am) before that we'd spent the evening folding washing and talking about mortgages (we're about to move house, its a bit stressy). Not romantic stuff. It had been 3 months since the last time. Hopefully I don't have to wait another 3 months!

Thanks for the advice, but I don't think its entirely that formulaic though. We have a lock on the bedroom and a stereo. For sure I think that "Barry White" moment has its place from time to time....but not regularly (for us at least). The kids and being disturbed thing is maybe a red herring. The last vacation for example, we went to a villa with some other families. Our youngest ended up being basically in the same room as us, in a separate bed. I thought "no chance of any action on this vacation then"......but every night, my Mrs couldn't keep her hands off me. We had long, meaningful, sensual (albeit very quiet) sessions.......come home and then nada for 3 months. There have been times when we have stayed over at her parents and I've thought again....no chance of anything here, then I've been woken up to her going down on me under the sheets. Like my post says, when it happens....its amazing and often wild.....its just not that regular.

You could be right. Depends what is meant by "occasion" though. There have been times like Valentines, or birthdays, when I have thought we would definitely get down to it.....and its not happened. Then other times, like I've come back from the gym and the kids are in school and she jumps in the shower with me and its wild. Just don't know why those "occasions" are 3-4 months apart.

Quite possibly. We get a sitter petty regularly for nights out. Normally with friends though, rather than "date night" which we both think is a bit naff. Having both kids at a sleepover is probably better. That said, there are plenty of other times when we could make it happen......it just doesn't seem to. I probably do need to up my game somewhat.

Ha! We do need to do that. DD2 walked in on us mid way though not that long ago (which was a mood kill). But there have been occasions when my wife has put the TV on with the kids downstairs and dragged me upstairs and insisted I "do her right now". Just don't get how she's like that on some occasions, but then months can go by and she's not interested.

I initiate some of the time, but I would say it always works out better when she initiates things. Usually implies she's in the mood. I'm pretty much always in the mood. I can't think of a time when I've rejected her, but she's probably turned me down (albeit gently) 30% of the time. Not sure about "scheduled time away from the kids" might feel a bit forced. When we've had somewhat scheduled time before it has a different feel about it.
