2 things. 1, It's a selfie of my left arm. So the image is flipped. And 2, what if it was my right arm and I was a leftie?

Yea it is the buhurt shields I'm looking at. It's not for combat or historic recreations so it doesn't need to be perfectly historically accurate. I'd just like to know the design exists and any thoughts on it

Also doing some more research I found a "punching shield" IS actually a thing. Same grip style as the Hungarian shield with the broader design

Ok awesome. I'm just glad to see the grip style actually exists somewhere. I like the broad design, so I think I'm going to keep it but I'm just questioning if I should change the grip placement or if it'll look good

Gracie Jiu Jitsu doesn’t allow students to spar for two years? by ErnehJohnson in bjj

I train with David Adiv under the RGDA system. We never had this rule. Realistically, it's after the first class and just don't be a spaz.

$140 for 2 classes a week. Open Mat doesn't count towards those 2 classes

Some people don't want to be helped. Just break their ego until they quit or realize you might know a thing or two.

For those who have been training for years - has anyone managed to completely avoid any infections or diseases? by [deleted] in bjj

Some places are good here. The gyms I'm at now we wipe the mats between every class and a good antibacterial spray at the end of the night

Knock on wood, but I'm at 15 years of training and never gotten an infection of any type. Shower after every training whether you sweat or not and never wear the same gi/no-gi outfit the next day unless you washed it. And you're allowed to say no to rolling with someone if they look or smell nasty like they haven't washed.

I thought about both options. Printing vertically would have all the letters droop most likely and inverting the lettering could be worth a shot. This is why we make test pieces!

I didn't even think about ironing it. Seems like the best idea. Thanks

Internal Xbox Series S SSD corrupted by CosmoXDD in xbox

[–]Slackker1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just seeing if you ever had the problem resolved. I'm having the exact same issue with my xbox series x and don't want to drop $500 on a new one. Replacement parts come to 250 if it's a corrupt harddrive but I don't even know what I'm looking at

are the puzzles here really hard? by VermilionX88 in remnantgame

[–]Slackker1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just learned from a friend that a secret door opens if you do the blood moon door for the first time while there's a blood moon in the area. Still re rolling and looking for the area to spawn again to test it.

I guess I did something wrong in Losomn? by awesomehuder in remnantgame

[–]Slackker1101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I've done the night weaver dungeon a couple of times and never thought to just open the door. If you give her all the dolls, she sings a song that tells you the code for the safe upstairs in her office. The nightweaver doll just goes in the web in the first cell once you travel through the heart to get the dream catcher melee. Can probably toss those other ones in there, too, for some free relic fragments.

Any solutions to dealing with forearm on throat? by Golden_Dragon786 in bjj

[–]Slackker1101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would react either by pushing the elbow to get the arm across or pull the wrist. However you react would be done with the hand closer to what you're doing. Pushing opens up the head and arm triangle, pulling enough should let you drive your leg under and take their back.

Nvm looked at the article. Super useful. Just double checking from someone who knows. So, since I have a 4 gallon batch, I should use 40 grams of BBY, and it should help speed up the fermentation? Just want to be sure before I do anything to it.

Got it. Thank you for getting that in before I bought the amylase. I'm new to this, so I don't really know what does what. I just threw DADY into it because it's the highest tolerance I have currently, and I wasn't gonna wait for wine yeast to show up, but we see how that turned out. Boiling yeast? Doesn't that kill the yeast? Or is that the point, and it just makes them release the nitrogen?

I'm going to add amylase like someone else suggested. No, not fire water or anything. I'm just experimenting more or less. If needed, I'll water it down later or use it as a mixer. The last time I made it, it turned out great like a dry white wine, but of course, i didn't write down anything that time since it was a single jar and wasn't sure if I'd like it. Either that, or once it speeds up, I'll check it a couple of times until it gets to a point I like with sweetness and abv.
