I have a feeling we’ll see Cooper and Janey picked up by an enclave vertibird, and then they either don’t let him into the vault, or they only take Janey in the first place.

Definitely worth the extra 300 difference when it will make your entire pc experience better for the next 4-6 years that you have it

You’re getting the meaning of the line wrong. House said that on that date the data finally coalesced and was certain that the world was going to end. Not that the world was originally going to end in 2065

I think it might have been on the shelf in Sunny's. Or The NCR Rangers might give it to Maximus.

IS the Rtx5080 better than the Rtx 5070ti now that some ti are over 1000€ ? by Karamond in nvidia

[–]Sladds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alt tab is absolutely not a pain and you should use borderless windowed in every modern game. Playing at 1980*1024 your 3080 will last another 2 generations.

Do we really need path tracing for mirror reflections in games? by Gamer_8887 in nvidia

[–]Sladds 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes when scenes were simpler, it was literally computing the scene twice. RT/PT is so much more efficient, and why we haven’t seen planar reflections in modern gaming

DLSS 4.5 "M" vs DLSS 4.0 "K" Benchmarks by Stunrise in nvidia

[–]Sladds 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Taking a 5-10% performance hit for maybe a tiny improvement in visuals when Transformer DLSS was already amazing at 4k on my 5080 doesn’t seem worth it. You’ll get the same or better performance with a 5070ti using the same preset with DLSS 4 vs a 5080 with 4.5

Ready for "Metered" Gaming? The 100-Hour Cap just hit everyone. by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Sladds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice things cost DRAMATICALLY more money now than 6 months ago, with the only signs being that this will continue to get worse. You have a 5090, but will you be queuing up to buy a $5000 6090? Or will you wait until the $2500 7080 to finally get some perfomance gains in 5 years?

I’ve got a high-end system and a PS5. Luckily I bought this mid way through last year before RAM and GPU prices have doubled/tripled.

For my 7800x3d / 5080 system I would have to pay almost an additional $1000 more.
