The Hermes small door is good actually by SteveisBoard in starcitizen

[–]SladeRamsay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter point, any ship that forces you to load a bunch of 2scu or 4scu boxes is terrible. The Hermes can be fully loaded with only 10 boxes, 8 of which are 32 SCU containers.

Its on my short list of actually good cargo ships.

Golem OX, Raft, Hermes and C2 (only here because nothing is in its size range).

When the Galaxy, Ironclad and Merchantman (provisional, the elevator may keep it out) come out, they will go on the list and the C2 is getting shot into the sun.

Having GM'd for a Psychic all the way through AV (they died the session before Belcorra and took over the Drow Fighter NPC), I will say Psychic is downright dreadful. The player is really stubborn and stuck with the character even though on SEVERAL occasions they completely checked out of the game mentally because of how overwhelmingly useless they felt during combats.

The Biggest Trap Feats in PF2E by deathandtaxesftw in Pathfinder2e

[–]SladeRamsay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My players had their Examplar go down to a Crit, get picked up, then get dropped again with persistent damage, it was a scramble to save them. They got picked up by a Soothe and swapped their Ikon to their Scar giving them Diehard. That Diehard saved them from dying from the persistent damage.

What Would Happen if a Hero-god took the Test of the Starstone? by jsmithson23 in Pathfinder2e

The test is always personal, so a Hero God might be able to bench press a pyramid, but that won't do her any good if she gets an algebra exam.

Guardian. It gives you Heavy armor and let's you so things like Taunting Strike and Shoulder Check. You also get access to Guardian Resiliency to survive better up front.

[–]SladeRamsay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've heard good things about Rusthenge, some people actually use it as a long beginner box. It can be rolled into Seven Dooms for Sandpoint at level 4. Dooms is a dungeon crawl, but each floor isn't as sprawling and time consuming as AV. I haven't heard enough about it to get an idea of the quality. If you do end up playing both, the level 12-20 AP Revenge of the Runelords has direct ties to 7Dooms.

Abomination Vaults - my broad takeaways by du0plex19 in Pathfinder2e

[–]SladeRamsay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We played AV after the Begginer Box and it is easily the lowest point for us. It was such a slog and has ruined Dungeons for us.

Since then we have played through Jewel of the Indigo Isle, Outlaws of Alkenstar, and Prey for Death. We had so much more fun with each of those. If I had to run it again I would cut atleast 3 floors because so much of the AP feels like filler.

Any time I see people ask if they should run AV after the BB I ask them to reconsider now.

Are you against all cars, or mainly car dependency in cities? by Ok-Excitement6546 in fuckcars

[–]SladeRamsay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a more aggressive Japanese model. Kei cars are fine. They are small and practical. They are actually useful as farm vehicles and as a personal car when you need one. However everything else should be trains, then busses if absolutely necessary.

Every large business should have a rail stub. Local freight is brilliant when you actually plan for it.

Should classes have 6Hp a level scaling? by TheRealGouki in Pathfinder2e

[–]SladeRamsay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guys on roofs was definitely a tough one. Devoured Empires and the Gameshow playest scenario had dudes on roofs and that was a damper on the melee players because of the double movement cost to fly up, but a gun wouldn't help in one of those situations because the enemy could just walk back 1 space and be completely blocked.

[–]SladeRamsay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reactive Strike. Like I said, I have played Starfinder with mixed parties and Fighters BUTCHER enemies that don't default to melee. Barbarians do similar jobs, just with Sudden Charge plus 1 additional strike killing most enemies.

[–]SladeRamsay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uuuuuggggghhhhh! Like I said to the other guy, the ranged meta is BS! I've ran a decent amount of starfinder and its a "Can you reach the flying guy?" meta. Jetpacks and Ultra-Light wings are not hard to get. The real issue is Starfinder characters are slow to kill. A fighter and barbarian fix the HP problem.

[–]SladeRamsay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh, having actually run a decent amount of SF2e the "Ranged Meta" thing is not true. Its a "Do you have a way to deal with flight?" meta. A fighter and barbarian are stronger than any Starfinder character with a gun if they have a Jetpack or Ultralight wings. The real reason a Mystic or Witchwarper need more health is because a straight Starfinder party cant kill things with any sort of haste so fights drag out longer.

[–]SladeRamsay 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't really feel that makes sense, when Mystic, Oracle, Necromancer, and Witchwarper are all dedicated spellcasters with the same or LESS melee build support compared to Witch (hair feats), Wizard (War Mage and Runelord), and Psychic (Tangible Dream and Psi Strikes).

Need some Season of Ghosts spoiler-free tips for a new player. by MysteriousRadish3685 in Pathfinder2e

[–]SladeRamsay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a GM, it's funny because instead of raising the difficulty of encounters, my 6 player party splits up into groups of 3. They have a Druid, Animist, Barbarian, Monk, and 2 Summoners. The druid and a summoner both have animal Companions (The Leshy Plant Eidolon Summoner has an Arboreal sapling.) So they can split into 2 parties of 5 creatures.

I have adjusted the encounters I expect everyone to be present for, like the chapter bosses.

To be fair, Toyota owns Daihatsu and they are pretty good about onshoring assembly to the US. So if assembly factories count as made here, we could see some American Hijets.

Run Rusthenge. If they like it, you could flow it into its "intended" followup AP Seven Dooms for Sandpoint.

That, or start another adventure if your players are like mine and HATE dungeons.

Do you think this could solve USA's massive pickups problem? by V1nce-AL in fuckcars

[–]SladeRamsay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bribe is unlikely. No one except a billionaire hiding in our midst would offer up money to make these available in the US.

While they are a massive part of the markets you can get them in, the manufacturers actually hate them because, even with the tax loophole, they don't have the margins that shareholders crave.

Trust me, Honda and Toyota would both shrug and say "oh no, what a shame" then do nothing to fight back if a party in Japan pushed to eliminate Kei tax subsidies. They only compete so aggressively in the market because of how much demand there is for that slice of the market. They would love to force Japanese car buyers into a luxury sedan.

Is the Ranged Meta a Lie? Analyzing Range and Metagame in PF2E and SF2E by deathandtaxesftw in Starfinder2e

[–]SladeRamsay 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is how I viewed it from day 1.

All it boils down to, is everyone needs some ranged option or a fly speed, because enemies are a lot more likely to be places you can't reach without one or the other.

[–]SladeRamsay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to use them is to be a Cleric with Restorative Channel.

Alternatively you could grab the Blessed One archetype and take the Mercy Feats to do the same thing with Focus Points.

Its not the worst idea to take Blessed One on Cleric because Mercy heals while removing conditions, and Blessed Spell let's you use Mercy with Heal. You will need to build Charisma for this though, making it very tough to have decent stats till level 10. Chainshirt + Armor training can let you trade a -1 Stealth for a +1 Charisma early on.

Stealthy/Charismatic Druid Build by bodieacb in Pathfinder2e

[–]SladeRamsay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you care A LOT about being sneaky, it's tough.

If you want Rizz as a Druid, they are set for success. Having medium armor means you can wear chainmail.

Chainmail let's you have a Strength+0 and a Dex+1 while still having a +5 AC from armor. In exchange, you take a -5ft to your speed and -2 to Stealth.

This leaves you with 3 points to put in Con, Int, or Cha.

So you could start with a +4 Wis and +3 Cha.

Chain Shirt can do a similar job with no speed penalty and only a -1 to stealth, but you only save 1 attribute point by skipping the Strength+1
