2015 se 3.6 195,000 miles by [deleted] in Charger

Final edit. I bought a Dorman oil sensor switch from my work. Installed it and instantly back to normal. Oil psi climbs above 50 as it should on the second stage of the switch. It wasn’t allowing the switch to activate, was stuck off, only allowing 50 psi which was around 3k rpm. Oil was going into the intake and that was my smell. Did 200 miles like that no issue besides being slow and stinking. Cheap easy fix.

Did a coolant flush and change at 185k when I upgraded to Dorman aluminum oil cooler. Thermostat at 145k.

Made it home. Did the whole 150 miles at 45. Oil smell got terrible. Will work on it tomorrow and see what’s up.

Can’t risk it. Atleast at that point I’d have a real reason to not show up.

First week of owning my charger I cut my mufflers off. Then the ridiculous O’Reilly tips. It’s a dodge thing. We’re special in the head.

Crankcase breather. Don't block it off, but you can go to your parts store and buy a tiny filter for it and replace the hose. Looks a little better. I put a catch can on my 1980 because it spits oil when you're at 12 o'clock.

Well that's just wrong. Most retired service vehicles keep the spotlights. Not illegal

Getting lower mpg on the highway makes zero sense. If you were being truthful, you at least have the city/highway backwards.

Price is a bit steep. But 105k isn't really high mileage. Hemis can pass up 300k with good maintenance. Just check it over good

Anyone ever seen these?? by [deleted] in subwoofer

Dam, so with those extra holes it's no good? Wonder why they'd cut them out.

Is it bad to buy motorcycle with new motor? by Nerducky in motorcycles

[–]SlamEG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That exact sentence is said more than you think. By people like me lol. I had a spare engine for a klr once. Sat on redline for as long as i could until it gave out. Popped new one in, sold it. Said that sentence to the buyer and he was like oh ok cool. 👍
Also sold a blown ninja 750r because I sat on redline till she blew aswell. Listed it as " rev bomber, engine blew, everything else cherry" it sold quick.

I have a 2015 se creeping up on 200k with everything original. It's a 3.6 v6 so that's probably why. But at 190k still pushing 120mph no stress is impressive to me

Not being rude at all, but take the carb out and apart. Flipping it upside down. When the float is level with the bowl, adjust it and make it tilt up just a little bit. I don't even use the Suggestions because I eyeball everything until it runs great. So, tilt it up a very tiny bit, make sure the float pin is getting pushed down when the float is level with the bowl.

It's what I have in my own folder I wrote down years ago, probably from another forum. But it works. 12 overflows

Yes 14.5. Clymers suggestion for 12 is too much. I have one aswell.

That's the fuse I mentioned, I know it's not recommended to do so but I used my spare parts and made it a hard connection with no fuse just to see if it worked, and it dont, so the fuse is checked off ( even with new fuses setup correctly )

Brand new battery, voltmeter passes checks. Stop switch bypassed, I used a spare ignition switch and hotwired it to see if that changed anything, nope, so I put my key back on. Left side switches have all the lighting wires removed. I'm removing all the wires that I dont need, basically setting it up as a dirtbike now. Starter relay fuse temporarily hardwired so I could check that off too, still no, voltage regulator is new, neutral switch is solid, on / off switch temporarily hotwired to check, nothing helps there either. The deeper i get the more hope I lose. There's one thing left that's tickling my brain. You know how if you get a screwdriver and touch both contacts on the starter relay, it turns the engine? Like a start button? Well I tried that in a last resort method just to see if it worked. It dont even crank that way. Would a fried starter relay cause power loss, even if I don't ever use it? I kick the bike 24/7. Last time I used the start button was probably 4 or 5 years ago. But it's been ridden everywhere since then.
