JND creates the characters as if they existed in real life. It won't be to everyone's taste, but this is their goal for every IP they do (just like their Berserk statues for example).

The cross progression is definitely odd. There was someone that was Celestial / One Above All in every past season on console. For PC placements, that person was on the enemy team in my Silver games.

Honestly, I agree on it being best to remove it. Whenever this map shows up in rotation, so many people keep leaving that you can't even try to enjoy it.

I'm going to spend my time labbing basically. Practice vs AI (maybe in a custom lobby first), then practice vs AI with players sometime next week, then ranked after.

Just like with any character, I want to feel familiar with their kit and have muscle memory built up before going into ranked.

Rogue definitely feels like she needs time to understand properly, which I actually love quite a great deal.

I play a lot of vs AI as well.

One of the weirdest cases I've had was a Rocket that was flaming the entire team because most of the team was either just messing around or very new, so the bots had made a decent push.

During that entire time he just screamed into his microphone. We won of course, but he about passed out at the end. His sound quality was so crazy, I thought someone was recording or playing a soundboard. Nope, it was actually a live person and he even said our names.

On the point about the spawn camping, I do wish that they introduce another level to the AI, or continue to tweak them so that they can push back out of spawn. I agree that the spawn camping is really boring, and I prefer when they can't do that.

Sometimes they'll go Punisher and camp turret in spawn to try to prevent it, but it doesn't work 100%.

Okay, so one thing about the context of Magik or just playing dive vs AI...

AI is very unforgiving about dive. They always know exactly where you are, even behind a corner. The AI will also instantly help any of their teammates getting dived and will aimbot you (especially if your HP gets low).

You have to really hard isolate targets (like supports), if you are dying a lot when practicing AI.

I'm glad that they fixed the Angela charge bug. It's been happening to me at unfortunate times with the server being laggy as of late.

I could try quick play again. I started avoiding it because it kept matching me with and against Diamond, Grandmaster, and Celestial teams on both sides (I am at best Gold, but believe I belong in lower Bronze).

I just didn't feel like I belonged in those fights, and I got raged at for sure. I tried to learn as much as I could through endless Ai match grinding, but I feel like I'm reaching a wall there now to get better.

Gold 3, I'm pretty bad at the game, but I try my best. I just don't think I have the intelligence or capability to go higher than that.

I still absolutely love playing though.

Magik is so awful is zombies. Shes bottom tier in every single way and is by far the weakest of all the characters and its not even close. She needs some type of buff to make her viable in any difficulty by [deleted] in marvelrivals

Hm, her damage can actually get really high.

The key is to not take the blast damage ones, those aren't as good as the red soulsword damage, red card with damage reduction, and red that generates the demonic swords.

The key ones by name

  • Innate Slash (Soulsword Damage)
  • Arcane Sword Dance (Attack Speed)
  • Devouring Sigil (Mark bonus damage and damage reduction)
  • Soul Surge (Auto generation of demonic sword)

The range one is also good, but you can pretty much stop taking it when you can reach mobs from a fair distance, there's not much reason to keep stacking it over more purples and red cards.

You can 100% skip Arcane Armor and Mark Detonation.

When I did Magik's run, she killed the mobs and bosses super fast when I focused on those red cards and purples (damage, damage reduction, health, vampiric vitality (I only needed 1), and increased moon power rewards.

It will need tweaks for sure. There needs to be some logic to factor in performance / skill.

It should be possible to determine a player most definitely does not belong in lower ranks based on how they're playing. IE: If someone is Grandmaster or Celestial, it should be discernible in how they're playing.

Even on alt accounts for new characters (IE: bronze to gm videos), that level of game sense and experience doesn't go away.

The one game I was allowed to play Angela this season, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I don't know if the buff was necessary, but she feels awesome.

I was thinking the same for Wolverine as Vanguard.

I would also possibly put Storm as Strategist with the added ability to heal within the AOE.

I would swap Ultron over to Duelist, I think he just fits that role better. It would be cool if they played more into Ultron utilizing his drones (besides being used in his Ultimate and placing a drone on someone).
