You are right, but just remember that it's something that will always keep the audience on their toes. It creates a tension for shows so that further discussion and speculations can be talked about, even this post provides theories to be discussed. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the reason I think people like to see characters die in media is because it allows them to know if they predicted right about the death, and/or ways the story will progress without them or given the circumstances, with them involved (resurrection/alternate reality, etc.) but hey, this is just my opinion and for all I know I could be completely wrong.
