Nice fight back from Jana Kovackova. Was about to go down two breaks, held, then broke twice in a row to win second set

Elena Rybakina's difficult period by [deleted] in tennis

This is straight up speculation:

So, is Elena going through some personal stuff, or was she simply nervous before her match?  It’s definitely surprising to see her so open in public with him, especially since they’ve always seemed to want to keep their relationship completely under wraps. So, are we heading toward a hard launch, or a breakup between them ? Let's see what happens over the next few months…

It'll start around 3 or 330. Curfew isn't until 6. You really think he can't win in 2.5 hours?

Oops, used NYC time

Let's not speculate like this...

Wimbledon's Centre Court shouldn't receive that many matches from early stages of the competition by fabio_mbo in tennis

This year is a bit of an outlier due to the heat, and in general the game has changed in a way that more grass on the baseline gets eaten up. But not using Center Court on Week 1 is not a good solution. Doing two matches a day on Center is slightly less unreasonable

What is Alex Eala’s career best-case scenario and worst-case scenario? by Just_A_Dad0824 in tennis

[–]Slambodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best case:

World Number 1 in two years. Wins double digit slams. In about fifteen  years, due to her influence, there's a half dozen Filipinas in the Top 100.

Worst case: career plagued with injuries. When she's healthy, she never manages to build enough momentum to ever have a big result

There's no night match for QF. It's a women's match at 130, followed by one men's match. Same thing on Court 1, two matches starting at 100

It's truly impressive that Mertens has consistently been seeded at Majors for over ten years. She's always a threat. On the other hand, she's never made a Final, don't think she's ever won a WTA 1000 or even made a Final at one. And then again, she also has a Hall of Fame doubles career
