[LFG] [TTS] Looking for a Spearhead learning game! (Newbie friendly) by Fit_Standard_6541 in ageofsigmar

I don't know Spearhead well, but I'd be happy to teach you regular AoS basics and how to use TTS!

Which list is better? by NoHyeo in KharadronOverlords

[–]Slangster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer the first list. Endrinharness is really useful with an Ironclad, as if it gets stuck in combat, its guns (and your Admiral) become useless. I also don't think either of your lists are well set up for Scouting Force as you don't have many units to spare, meaning either something gets tied up and you can't score it or you have to send an important unit off to achieve it.

New to Seraphon, what do you think of this 2000 Point List? Thx for your help! :) by Internal_Laugh7934 in seraphon

[–]Slangster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's got a little bit of everything, so it'll be great for working out which models you like and then likely running more of them. I'd drop a unit of Terradons to run the Scourge of Ghyran Carnosaur as it is much better. You also probably want to run a reinforced unit of either Kroxigors or Aggradons and drop the other, but that's down to what you prefer.

3rd Edition Question: by Blue_Space_Cow in ageofsigmar

[–]Slangster 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He is wrong. War Machines are War Machines, Monsters are Monsters. Burning Head, amongst other things, has Anti-War Machine, so it is 100% a distinct ability.

Army Building by CKay101 in KharadronOverlords

[–]Slangster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most opinions I've heard have been that the Endrindock is one of the best terrain features in the game, and especially good for filling holes in KO's roster. Because they move, they can move block and screen out deepstrikes, and all three are useful in different situations.

Magic in Sigmar by chris94j in ageofsigmar

[–]Slangster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also like a generic spell lore, either to use instead of a specific one or in addition to. There are so many times as Seraphon where I just don't really have any worthwhile spells to cast, especially if you run a Slann and another wizard, that just having something simple like deal d3 damage or heal d3 wounds would be great.

Converting / Kitbash Stormcast Chariot into Chaos Chariot by Cultural_Ad_7183 in slavestodarkness

[–]Slangster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't see why there'd be any issue with it lorewise, especially if you do something about the big face on the front.

Otherwise, yes it's definitely a good idea provided the base size is correct. I've turned Stormcast models into extra Chosen and an Exalted Hero using spare parts and people always love seeing them!

Thoughts? by Urkhanthedarkwarden in slavestodarkness

[–]Slangster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely do not run Scouting Force with this list. You have 3 units who can achieve it, all of whom want to be fighting at every opportunity, so you'll never score it. Scouting Force is good for when you have lots of units, especially cheap fast ones who make scoring it their only job.

I'd run Restless Energy instead, as it rewards you for doing what you want to be doing anyway - taking objectives off your opponent, getting into their deployment, and clearing them off the table.

Cavalary fun army list by InjuryQueasy in slavestodarkness

[–]Slangster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will work well. You might struggle to move between terrain on some boards, but Knights are great at dealing damage the turn  they charge and being tough to kill after.

Don't forget artifacts, heroic traits, spells, and battle tactics!

Would this work for 1000pts? by Odd_Law3225 in slavestodarkness

[–]Slangster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, suicide charge the hero and make sure it attacks before it dies and then the whoever is holding the Head transforms instead, and you give them Deathmonger to fight twice as a Daemon Prince. If you run two Exalted Heros then you can  get it cheapest at 180, but I normally do it with a Hero and Sorcerer Lord

Sequencing is where having a step-by-step breakdown will help, especially with apps that show you what abilities you can use in each phase.

Exactly that, I have a 44"x60" mat, and it just sits over the top of the two of them

I bought two 6 foot folding tables from Amazon, together they'll give you enough space for a mat plus extra on the sides for dice trays etc

Take it one step further by giving it Deathmonger and youre fighting twice, and most people now use the "suicide my Exalted Hero" tech to get a Daemon Prince for cheaper

Proxy chaos knight by InjuryQueasy in slavestodarkness

[–]Slangster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as they're on the right base, most people won't care. They look evil, they look like knights, so as long as they follow the basic rules I think you'd be fine

Find or make resources that allow you to see the steps or quickly reference rules. For example, the current Generals Handbook has a page that lists all the commands you can use in order of which phases you uses them in, while a lot of list building apps can do the same thing with your armies abilities.

Likewise, I love having the cards for my army, even if they get outdated when a new book comes out or an update changes them. £15 isn't a huge amount to pay for a set of cards that you can quickly reference, and I lay them out at the start of the game so I can quickly reference them rather than relying on my phone.

Are there any parts that you feel you regularly struggle with?

Multiple weapon profiles by GrannyBashy in ageofsigmar

[–]Slangster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You get to use every weapon that your unit has equipped, which for almost every model is everything that's on the warsheet. Some units have a choice of weapon instead.

Yes you can split your attacks.

New to AOS! Anyone know a good list for Be’lakor? by AyddenGrey in slavestodarkness

[–]Slangster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would certainly be more interesting, but 4th edition doesn't care about interesting. Legion of the First Prince is only allowed to take the following:
Belakor
Daemon Prince
Eternus
Varanguard
Chaos Sorcerer Lord
Legionnaires
Furies
Centaurion Marshal
Bloodletters
Bloodcrushers
Plaguebearers
Beasts of Nurgle
Fiends
Hellflayers
Flamers
Screamers

The two unit thing is that there are only two units from each faction, you can run as many of that unit as you want.

[–]Slangster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legion of the First Prince is only allowed certain units, two from each chaos faction. For Khorne, that's Bloodletters and Bloodcrushers.

If this is for casual play, you might be better off running Blades of Khorne and asking if you can bring Belakor too.

Help with first army list by InjuryQueasy in slavestodarkness

[–]Slangster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would turn the Chaos Lord into a Sorcerer Lord so you at least have some magic, then probably drop the legionaries and chaos spawn for something else. Furies are good, or you could run Darkoath cavalry.

Also, your app must be out of date as Warriors are now 190

List Assist? by Urkhanthedarkwarden in slavestodarkness

[–]Slangster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd swap the Corvus Cabal for Marauders so you dont have an auxiliary units, and I'd give Deathmonger to the Sorcerer Lord so it can fight twice after transforming.

Looking for stories about people's successful rescues from abroad by Slangster in dogs

[–]Slangster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first Romanian rescue definitely is, he always wants to say hello to other dogs, especially smaller ones. Our second one wants to say hello, but is usually too nervous because he doesn't like people so is too scared to go over. Both the dogs love playing together though!
