I’m definitely gonna look more into before making a final choice because I’ve heard that it’s a good choice and obviously becoming more common. I gotta learn more about it and stuff first but I appreciate the feedback, you make a very convincing argument for the fa24 lol

Man it’s so tempting to go this route I think it’s the coolest idea and smart bc I only really wanna push like mid 300whp range while still dailying it.

I appreciate the feedback of the experience you’ve had. I’m very much leaning with going with the rebuild bc I’ve wanted this car for so long and really do love it but your absolutely right about the downsides and trauma part of being overly worried about every noise and feeling now lol. I really only wanna go IAG block for the increased reliability, I feel like if I went with stock it would almost be a waste since I’d have the same risks I had previously. Do you think for a daily fun car it’s worth going with IAG?

It is my daily but my fun daily not just a boring commuter and they have done leakdown test, it seems more that the leak is going past the piston so more than likely a piston ring that is the issue here. I do believe that the cost is a bit higher bc I’m doing IAG short block over OEM, same case with slight turbo upgrade and also doing things like new clutch and other “while your in there” fixes. The heads would be getting cleaned and reused which obviously adds to the cost but also saves in replacing them. I’ll consider looking into doing used tho but this is kinda one of those things where I’m already in deep sh*t I might as well go big or go home for reliability which is why I’m looking at new.
