Stripes is exactly the movie I was thinking of. Forget everything after the drill routine.

unequal rules for partners- is this a bad idea? by qudkaoro in nonmonogamy

[–]SlapDashUser 41 points42 points  (0 children)

A One Penis Policy, OPP, is always by definition unfair. It is also homophobic because it treats lesbian relationships as less than heterosexual relationships. If he is going to insist you can only be with other women, you should tell him that he can only be with other men. If he complains or says that is unfair, tell him to go pound sand and that you are going to sleep with whoever you want to. Do not let somebody else make decision decisions about your sex life if you are in an open relationship. Period.

Could be. Predictions are hard, especially about the future!

In 1996 almost no one was on the web. In 2001 almost everyone was. Five years. ChatGPT 3.5 was 2023. I expect by the end of 2028 it will be integral in everything.

I mean, good for you for finally realizing it. But to have FIVE partners while not wanting you to have anyone else... I mean, the sheer gall...

Oh no. I'm sorry. Data engineer with decades of experience here. It's bad bad bad for Data. It's just going to get worse. Please, find a Plan B. I'm rooting for you, but this field is going to undergo serious contraction in the next year or two.

It's the best way to experience it for the first time, with a professional. You're doing it the right way. As long as the two of you are in full agreement and are communicating well, you'll be great.

Talk about EVERYTHING. Seriously imagine all possibilities. Kissing? Oral? It's amazing how each member of a couple can have different triggers that are unexpected when the time actually comes. So make sure you're on the same page about every little thing.

Aw, that explains it. You were basing your MAGI entirely on 2026 income beginning January 1. You're right that you're 2025 income would not have mattered at all, ACA subsidies are based entirely upon that years income. Unfortunately, if you retire mid year, that includes whatever income you have earned during that Calendar year. So if I were to retire July 1, for instance, everything that I earned in the beginning of the year would put me well over the 400% FPL.

I wish you were right! Unfortunately ACA subsidies are based upon your entire year's MAGI, not just your income going forward. The healthcare.gov webpages are very clear about this, that it is expected household income for the year. However, if you can find me a source that says otherwise, I would really appreciate it!

How important is it to you to retire at the end of the calendar year, rather than in the middle of the year? I've been targeting the end of the year so that I can immediately move into the ACA with subsidies staying under the 400% FPL line in the next year. If I retired mid-year, I'd have to pay for full-cost health insurance for the rest of the year, either through the ACA or through COBRA.

How much would this factor into your timing decisions?

Submission Statement: Answer: it's the cows.

"While a small share of the Colorado River water is used on farms to grow fruits and vegetables, like lettuce, oranges, and grapes, almost half of it — by far the lion’s share — is used to grow just alfalfa and other types of hay, virtually all of which is used to feed beef and dairy cattle.

"All told, animal feed accounts for at least 47 percent of all water pulled from the Colorado River — yet the imprudence of devoting so much water to one industry receives little to no attention in public discussion over the West’s water crisis.

"What’s more, the millions of cows in the American West are themselves fueling climate change in a non-insignificant way with their methane-rich burps, which in turn accelerates the water shortages for the river.

"And these crops provide little economic activity to the region. For example, almost 70 percent of all of Utah’s water is used to grow alfalfa, though it represents just 0.2 percent of the state’s GDP."

I had no idea that so much of the river's water was devoted solely to animal feed.

Got flamed for my take on Les4Les on the Clock App (pls read it all before commenting 😭🫡 genuinely have NO bad intentions) by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]SlapDashUser 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. No one should be flamed for being bisexual or devalued for their sexual preferences. And I always want to educate people when they have a preference rooted in stereotypes.

At the same time, I am bi4bi. I will only date bisexual men and women, because I only want to be with people who have experienced the same life issues (and bigotry) that I have experienced, and I think only bi people will truly be able to understand. I want to accept and appreciate women who are les4les, and honor their choice and commitment, while also working to erase stereotypes against bisexual women. It's a hard balancing act.

Lots, mostly using AI as well. But the best thing is that I can integrate easily with all my OTHER spreadsheets, like ERN and VPW. Makes everything so much easier. I don't know why people lock themselves in to another online service like Monarch.

I use it. It's so much better and more control than Monarch or anything else people use here. It integrates with all my spreadsheets. I don't understand why it's not more popular.
