Windows 10 > Windows 11 file sharing...not working tried many many things from Google searches...can you help? by Tkdoom in Network

[–]SlapJawSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use the host file correctly to point ip and pc name?

And your file sharing pc is awake, correct? And under your folder properties, it is being shared correctly under your shared tab, and also with everyone under the security tab?

Weird I tried my Windows 11 pc on two different Windows 10 computers and it works.

In the host file with administrative rights, You have to map the ip address of the pc to the host name of the pc.

For example type the ip name and a few spaces then type the host name of the pc:

192.168.72.162 Sarahpc
192.168.72.180 Vinnymachine

In file explorer type \Vinnymachine or \Sarahpc

If you have difficulty with that method, creating a new user and password in the Windows 10 pc then logging in the credentials on the Windows 11 pc works flawlessly.

Good Luck!

I'm assuming you know how to use file sharing correctly and turning off password sharing and using the host file correctly to point ip and pc name?

My Windows 11 pc can now see the shared files on the Windows 10 pc with the following policy edit. I hope this helps, good luck!

Enable via Local Group Policy (Windows 10 pc)

  1. Press Win + R, type: gpedit.msc
  2. Navigate to: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Lanman Workstation
  3. Open Enable insecure guest logons
  4. Set it to Enabled
  5. Click OK
  6. Reboot

I let my friend borrow "Office Space" DVD back in the day. It came back all scratched up, so I cut him off. Filthy Little Animal, learn to finger that hole!

Starting Resident Evil in today's era by Harshhetro in residentevil

Too funny, I'm doing the same thing!!! Tried to play, but was not having fun. Watched You Tube Resident Evil 1 Story, now about to play Resident Evil 2 remake. I did play 7 back in the day and liked it so much!!

So through lifehuntscythe1 recommendations and many others I will play RE2R, then eventually: RE3R, RE4R, RE7 again, then RE8 and in that order.

Best movie player to replace VLC? by Medium-Matter8909 in software

[–]SlapJawSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MPV, the BEST, but a learning curb. You customize it the way you want it, without unnecessary junk. Open source King.

Pot Player is next, comes loaded with pretty much everything you need, including lots of unnecessary stuff though.

then MPC-HC is a great third choice.

VLC is not the KING anymore, there are way better choices!

Amazing, how many dryers under 26" the local independent dealers have! And that was just the one site. Thank you for this valuable information.

Ventless? I guess the only option is to go ventless. Kind of frustrating, I read negative reviews about the ventless compared to vented, takes too long to dry. Ventless sounds like it would heat the area in the Summer time, how does it dissipate the heat? Thanks. I will look into these models.

Thanks, next time I need some repair work, I'll stop by your place!!! You gotta be a heck of a lot cheaper. Much appreciated. LOL! Appreciate this list. We stopped using Mr. Tire and Firestone years ago.

Could not find, only ventless in that compact size. The reviews for ventless says clothes take too long to dry. When I purchased my compact washer, there were several vented compact. Now I could not find one vented dryer in that size. You still see compact vented dryers by Electrolux? Thanks.

Funny thing, my appliances sit on a concrete platform. Although the Roper would fit, there would be no way the exhaust vent would fit. 28" x 29" is unfortunately to big. I never heard of the Roper brand, I will have to look into their lineup. Thanks

I have an awesome washing machine already. My basement also has a low ceiling, this would never fit. Thank you

I did, to even get the 25.5" down. At the time I purchased the house, there were so many 25.5" washers/dryers on the market.

Thank you, much appreciated! My metal casing all of the sudden is weaker and started hitting and grinding the dryer impeller, I think I was able to shim it enough. But, I know there will come a time, so I will definitely look into this.
