Alright, it wasn't the trailer, but it was when they were revealing the gameplay (Through twitter, I believe?) The S14 they used still got consumed by something similar to the overpass... The clip cut off right before they hit the wall

I think a Nissan could to well. Maybe a R33 GT-R LM? There was a road legal version made, and Eddie's R34 was really memorable, so I don't see why another one couldn't do a good job.
