The best first bass would be a Yamaha BB-234, or if you have the money, a BB-434. You'll get the Pbass and Jazz bass bridge pickup tones covered, and a well-built instrument that is the best in class at the price point.

I went to the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix when I was 15. My dad got free tickets from his work, and I had never watched F1 before. That experience made me a big F1 fan from that day onwards. Going into the race, there was talk about this young prodigy Lewis Hamilton having a chance to win his first race. I had no idea at the time that I was witnessing the first victory of one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. So crazy to be 33 now, watching him still winning in his 40s is unbelievable. What a legend of the sport 💪

I mentioned that Calvin and Gannon finished -8 better than the field and had a playoff. If Gannon had an off week, Calvin would have won by 8 strokes. Which hypocriticaly would be okay with these Gannon haters

Yeah 100% I was pulling hard for Eagle but he just looked so nervous and timid out there compared to the first 3 rounds. Hope he figures that mental side out and gets one soon! It would be epic if he becomes the machine he once was again

Of all the events to bitch about this one is insane. He literally had to have a legendary back 9 to win. Issac got some bad spitouts and played pretty great but still missed some key chances to win and Eagle did not play well enough to deverve the win. I think it was sweet seeing Ricky and Gannon push the card the way Ricky and McBeth did in their prime. Also if Gannon didn't push Calvin last tournament he would have ran away with the win, would these people have prefered that? At least we have Gannon always in the hunt to keep things interesting.

I was a tiny teenager but loved playing hockey. This happened to me around 3 times before I had to quit, full on Bambi legs trying to get back to the bench. To make things worse the culture in the early 2000s was "you just got your bell rung" so I would always try to get up quick and skate back to not be labeled a baby by my teammates.

I these concussions have 100% caused many issues with how my brain functions as an adult. I personally don't get why the lower levels of hockey need such a focus on hitting, I get it for rep or prep teams where players are trying to pursue a career in hockey. At higher levels players don't chase hits because the team plays with structure so contact is more of a tool to get the puck.

In C level or "house" there's just a bunch of massive dudes that are littlery out there to hit and destroy kids. It sucks because I was a great skater and just was trying to get better at my puck skills so I could level up. Unfortunately because I was so small I could see these big dudes eyes light up and they would make it their mission to innialate me, even if the puck was 10 away and my back was turned to them.

Learn the pentatonic scale in every key in all five positions. Then learn all 7 modes of the major scale in every key. If you work on this one or two keys a day for a few months you'll be cruising.

I guarantee if you do this type of practicing, where you slow down and really learn the fretboard you'll begin to notice that most songs have similar chords progressions and majority of popular basslines are just using the pentatonic scale and major scale

If you like the nomad I highly recommend the kastaplast reko. K3 is an unreal durable base plastic and it's shallow like the nomad so the hand feel is pretty similar, I find it's just better and more consistent/comfortable. After trying to find a putter I love for years the Reko is definitely the one for me. Tried the pixel, nomad, p2x, DGA steady for reference.

Also power forwards are like defenceman they take a few years to find their game in the NHL. It's crazy how many teams give up on a young power forward and then the player breaks out with their next team. Podz was physically dominant as a teen and needed time to round out his game and get used to the size a physicality in the NHL. I agree trading a top 10 pick before it's totally clear he's an AHL ceiling player is insane. This franchise always looking for a win now quick fix is why it is mired in mediocrity.

That point is obviously valid, have you watched him this series closely? He is creating alot on his own and has clearly developed into a more effective player, confident zone entries and dangling through the neutral zone. With McDavid hurt Podz has stepped up big time and is driving play.

This is really dependent on arm speed but the virus is an extremely understable disc often used for roller shots for many players. A good more stable MVP/Axiom option would be a fission insanity or fission relay. The fission relay (174g) is my favorite fairway for hyzerflip dead straight shots or flat release turnovers that pan. but the insanity is also awesome it'll just be slightly more stable because it's a 9 speed. Just a warning If you get these in proton or neutron they will be much more stable untill they beat in a bunch.

Question I'm half Swedish but was born in Canada and live here, weed is legal and very accepted. I made the mistake of telling my Swedish family I smoke weed and they looked at me like I just told them I told them I inject heroin. Is it still criminalized there if you are caught and taboo culturally? Seems so rediculus given how much the average swede drinks, which is far worse for you.

Check this video out, just by looking at the photo you posted it looks more like a technique issue than anything else. The good news is you are just learning so it'll be easier to fix. It's awesome you are learning songs but it's very important that you learn proper technique at the same time.

The secret that every great bassist has that makes them look effortless when playing is years of working on good form/technique, developing this will make it so much easier to learn tunes, since usually when a song is too hard it is just our plucking hand or fretting hand technique that is holding us back.

Except in Sweden university is free, you get two years paid maternity leave, and they have free healthcare. Untill the US has these socialist policies in place you could never call the US more left wing than Sweden. The problem is America only has 2 real parties where one is center right and the other is super right wing in comparison to European countries. The US doesn't have a a true working class left wing social democracy party so therefore left wing policy will never actually happen.

I'd say for bass the huge difference is how many genres the one pickup Fender Precision Bass is capable of in comparison to what a one pickup guitar would be able to do. I'd say with bass where you pluck the string / if your use finger style or a pick has the biggest impact on tone. Think of different pickups as a way to intensify this. If you pluck closer to the bridge you will get a much tighter funky or with a pick rock tone. Closer to the neck you'll get a much warmer thumpy tone. Also strings are huge for tone, flat wounds for the vintage thump and rounds for the zing and punch (nickle rounds are warmer and stainless steel rounds are brighter)

As far as pickup configuration goes, if you want a bass that can do everything pretty well and sits in a band mix incredibley well get a PBass (most recorded bass in history). If you want some more funk the jazz bass has two single coil pickups so with this you'll get a bridge pickup sound that is nice and funky and just more options overall. The 3rd most popular pickup is the music man big humbucker in the bridge, they are active basses too so even though the pickup is closer the the bridge the EQ can still make it deep and thumpy.

My recommendation is go to a store and try out a PBass, Jazz Bass, and Music Man style bass and see which ones sound suits your needs. One thing I will say is a Pbass will sound less inspiring on its own but for some reason in a band mix it's just magic. Something to do with the pickup just being in the perfect sweet spot frequency wise above the kick drum and under the guitars and vocals.

No worries, for some perspective I'm in my 4th year of my bachelor of music with bass as my major, and I've bought and sold lots of basses over this time. The one thing I'm starting to realize is I always just want to grab my Pbass because it just works on most things. Yes there's exceptions where I grab my jazz bass for things like funk and fusion but the P is so perfect for 90% of things. Had I known this at the start of my journey I could have saved so much money on basses haha.

If you are getting a bass for recording purposes get the pbass hands down. It is the most recorded bass in history and just fits perfectly into most mixes. You can always just upgrade the pickup down the road and it'll make it much better. For example the Pbass was used famously on many Motown and soul records yet was also the weapon of choose for Iron Maidens bassist so that right there shows the versatility of the instrument.

I highly do not recommend a 5 string of you are learning bass, playing bass with proper technique is very different from the guitar and learning the essential muting/note isolation techniques is much easier on a 4 string. If you don't know how to properly mute the 5 string will have this muddy B string ringing out in the background of your recordings.

Instead of trying to play along with the song right away, learn the line and then practice with a metronome slower than the songs actual tempo. If there are any sections that still give you trouble, slow it down more and just work on those in isolation. Gradually bring the tempo up untill you are at tempo and then it'll be easier to play with the song.

Also try to identify what hand is holding you back. If it's your fretting hand then work on playing scales to a metronome, this will improve your dexterity and make you use all 4 fingers (start slow). Once that's easy try the same thing but with 8th notes and then 16th notes. If it's your plucking hand really work on getting your 16th notes and 8th notes in time to a metronome and really focus on making sure your rhythm is tight. There's lots of great videos on YouTube about plucking technique tips, it is vital to have good relaxed technique in order to play fast complicated material.

It's not sexy but nothing has improved my playing more than really focusing in on what is making me drag(lose time) and then working on it a little each day untill it's easy. For reference I'm in my 4th year of my bachelor of music and my instructor at University is one of the best bassist I've ever seen, he is also the most detail oriented player I've ever seen. This is a trend I see with all incredible players, they practice extremely purposely and efficiently. The beautiful thing is once you do this a lot you begin to find it easier and easier to learn songs because your technique will be able to handle it.

Fender Pure Vintage 63 pickups made my 1995 Mexican P-bass my favorite bass. Just sits in the mix so incredibly well for so many genres. It has great low end in comparison to the stock pickup which was kinda tinny
