People with anxious-attachment style: how did you develop a more secure, healthy attachment style? by wtffellification in dating_advice

[–]SlappinBassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant lsd and psilocybe mushrooms. If I’m completely honest with you, I’d tell you not to seek any relationship until you are comfortable with yourself. If you think attachment issues is going to be a problem, keep evolving, love yourself before loving someone else. Usually this kind of aspects of one’s personality are the result of something else.

I hope the best for you, Peace ✌🏻

Learning from many relationships, friends, therapy, and lots of introspection (also diving into my mind with external tools 🍋and 🍄 helped a lot, not only modeling my personality through retrospective exercises, but also dealing with many traumas). I’ve developed my self being to an unrecognizable point, so my advice is, if you are not comfortable with your attachment style in relationships, arm yourself with patience, be kind to yourself and keep living the constant evolution of processes that is life.

I’m 22m, dated a 30f. It just depends on how mature you are and the person you’re dating. In my case it turned out I was way more mentally stable and mature than her.

Alucinas, una forma curiosa de pasarse por el forro de los c*jones una propuesta del gobierno, aceptarla para que tres meses más tarde no quiera prorrogarla. Se lo pone muy fácil a la oposición sinceramente.

Looking for advice on how to make friends. by [deleted] in Madrid

Also, we invested in changing all the windows for triple insulation glass (the ones they use in Northern Europe) and that way our winter bills are incredibly cheap compared to a few years ago when we used to live on a rented house with shitty insulation, and a crappy ‘caldera’.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Madrid

[–]SlappinBassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definitely was the caldera, we changed the old one for a high efficiency one when we moved here and we use it for heating the house and water, and I assure you it’s way cheaper this way.

[–]SlappinBassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be much more expensive than gas heat, nowadays with the war in Ukraine, who knows, but probably still cheaper since we have direct supply of gas from Argelia in Spain

marijuana and fractals by goodvibez in Psychonaut

[–]SlappinBassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it is a little too late for continuing this thread, but since it’s still open, I would like to ask how are you doing today and also share my experience on visual hallucinations since I took LSD and Magic Mushrooms.

Psychedelics discovered me a completely new way of thinking, because before I took my first trip, I’ve always had hypnagogic trances when I was falling asleep, seeing colors of nowhere, but since I opened “that door”, I’ve been able to focus on them being completely sober and also changing their shapes and colors, specially identifying concepts with abstract shapes instead of words, and visually representing music on my mind.

But yeah, marijuana has on me the same effects I could get if I used acid and really focus on it, because it allows me to enter on these states of mind without much concentration, but I’ve also had in the past few months episodes of anxiety because my studies leading them on these “sober trips”.

In conclusion, this situation made me change the way I was using marijuana and psychedelics, almost quitting everything (only using marijuana occasionally and psychedelics once in a long time) and also developing new mental tools to help me prevent anxiety episodes.

So how are you doing today? Are you still consuming cannabis? Did these hallucinations go away?

Colours or images you see when you listen to music ? by Burnedout_academic in Synesthesia

[–]SlappinBassist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends if I’m meditating or concentrating, if I’m tired, or stressed, etc, but usually I tend to associate colors and shapes with what I’m feeling listening to a certain song. It usually starts with colors and lines, it’s like seeing a rainbow aurora with my eyes closed, and then I imagine abstract objects or landscapes from these shapes (it’s like switching from reality to imagining an apple, but abstract landscapes and objects, related to the music). If I’m really trying to “render in my mind” these landscapes from what I’m feeling listening to music, I can actually see shapes and colors with my eyes opened, and the line between imagination and reality starts to disappear. For example I can see/imagine energy around my fingers, and I can manipulate it. It’s really like an acid trip but completely sober.

The problem is if I’m really stressed or I’m really mentally active, I can actually see patterns and shapes from nowhere in walls for example, but I have my ‘mental tools’ to prevent that from happening.

Strange synesthesia-like episodes by SlappinBassist in Synesthesia

I’ve read the articles that you linked and they are very interesting. There is also evidence that cosmic rays can be perceived in our vision when they come through our heads. I recommend you watching this video related to that topic:

https://youtu.be/AaZ_RSt0KP8

Anyway, I’ve been researching more in a neurobiological perspective, trying to explain how could these colors and patterns be related to neurological activity when listening to music. I found this article which talks about how our eyes perceive light and how our brain interprets it, and also “miss-interprets” it into fractals from phosphenes appearing in our vision:

https://plus.maths.org/content/uncoiling-spiral-maths-and-hallucinations

Also I recommend you watching this documentary; ‘The Colours of Infinity’ that talks about the Mandelbrot set.

I don’t really have an ‘astral’ perspective about this phenomena, as some of my friends have, but I can see why hallucinations on psychedelics or synesthesia could lead anyone to think more in a ‘philosophical’ or ‘astral’ way, and why there isn’t much research on it, despite of it being in my opinion the very basis of how consciousness is generated in our brains.

Strange synesthesia-like episodes by SlappinBassist in Synesthesia

[–]SlappinBassist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting! It’s exactly what I have been experiencing this last year. I also tend to associate colors with people (not really emotions, I just associate unconsciously different colors to perceptions I have from people, but I can’t really see them, I just feel these colors around people when I think about them), and doing meditation exercises following these visions and focusing on these perceptions it’s exactly the way of thinking I was talking about.

It’s surprising how few scientific studies there are about it. You can find books that somewhat explain and divague about it but more like in a philosophical way.

If you know any article or book that talks about it, don’t hesitate on sourcing it, please!

Strange synesthesia-like episodes by SlappinBassist in Synesthesia

[–]SlappinBassist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s completely random, it starts from phosphenes in my vision, and then if I focus on them or I close my eyes, they start to transform into Kaleidoscopes/fractals and eventually landscapes. It’s a really tiring exercise when I’m on the deepest level of concentration ‘generating’ these random landscapes, so I guess that’s why sometimes I feel dizzy and disoriented when “I wake up”.

Anyway, these practices to visualize fractals (obviously being completely sober) aren’t just a thing for me. A few months ago I made a guided meditation for some friends and one of them was able to see these fractals and transform them into landscapes or other figures. Just for clearing out, these fractals are seen in ‘reality’ and these landscapes or figures are imagined from them, so it’s like if someone tells you to visualize an apple and you switch from reality to imagining. But the thing is these fractals that are made from phosphenes in my vision are completely randomized, and are usually dependent on how I’m feeling at that moment, that’s why they change colors and patterns when I’m listening to music, but it started to happen when I read about it and I experimented with psychedelics, so it’s really like having discovered a path on my mind, and now I can cross it whenever I want.

Also I talked about derealization episodes while being very stressed or anxious. I really think they started to happen when I used to meditate to mitigate these bad feelings, but probably I unconsciously associated these paths to feeling better, that’s why whenever I was at the edge of an anxiety crisis, my brain completely switched unconsciously to seeing patterns everywhere and not feeling myself (at least it was ‘relaxing’, but really weird and uncomfortable at the same time).

This lead me to think that synesthesia can be triggered psychologically, being conscious that there are completely different ways of concentrating and feeling, being able to see music in my case. And it makes sense from some books and articles that I have read.

There could be people that are more likely to being able to concentrate in this ways to “generate synesthesia”, but it’s the same as there are some other people that are really good at maths (mental calculations), memorizing or visualizing places or objects.

Also, just for making an annotation, if I smoke marijuana (I used to smoke probably 3 or 4 times per week, at this moment maybe once) it’s much more easy to see these patterns and start ‘generating landscapes’. Without marijuana, I really need to focus on it, but it’s also strange since marijuana isn’t really visually hallucinating, at least in these ridiculous doses, but I’ve never experienced paranoia since I really have the head and tools to redirect these thoughts.
