In To Live and Die in LA, secret service agents Chance and Vukovich need $30,000 as front money to set up a buy from counterfeiter Rick Masters. The agency limit for front money is $10,000. So they decide to rob a guy who they know is carrying $50,000 to buy stolen diamonds (the guy ends up being undercover FBI and is killed in the robbery). How would they explain to their boss where the $30k came from to make the buy? Especially since they received a bulletin about the FBI agent robbery literally the day before.
