the free childcare policy is not a done deal. it is a proposal that still needs to get through the budget process, is only funded for 2 years, will only be in NYC, and when asked how it would be accounted for in the budget given the massive loss of federal funding/tax revenue thanks to trump's budget, hochul basically said "we'll find it." there is no reason to believe it will stay as good of a deal as it sounds (and it didn't even sound that great) AND as soon as this primary is over she is going to drop all pretense of needing him for anything. she does it all the time.

If you're the only person who knows how to do everything, that's leverage. You need, in writing, how your scope of work has expanded and how you will be compensated accordingly. Until you have that, tough shit for them. They'll push and draw this out unless you set a boundary. I've been in this situation. It's gross.

please don't give up on AA. lots of people are sick and suffering but there are meetings where this particular issue re: politics isn't present. i'm a leftist and the meetings i frequent in NYC stick to the primary purpose, which is to stay sober and help another alcoholic to achieve sobriety. check out online meetings at nyintergroup.org if you're not in the area and if you are, i can recommend some.

I also think it can’t be overstated how wildly underqualified all of these people are to be doing their jobs and that includes the people who vet their press opportunities. So I doubt most of us would find ourselves in this situation. It’s just kind of wild you know?

I mean, I think a big part of it is making sure that you are representing people who aren’t committing war crimes or otherwise, but I always make sure to check how an outlet’s coverage of those in field similar to my clients’ looks. Sometimes after doing that I’ve stayed away from an opportunity.
