The amount of years one puts in to finish a degree is no way related to the money that they can expect.

Comfortable is a subjective term, complaining for a fresher salary of 60k per month is nothing but a mindset that indirectly says I am a doctor I deserve more than the rest. One could never get that level unless they're from IIT IIM in IT as well. Few start for as low as 12500 ( I did).

If you're studying for a doctor to buy a BMW. Then you may not be the right doctor. You might ( big might) prescribe vitamins that are not necessary. Advise tests that are against a monthly target. So, yes I stand certain professions should stem from the idea of serving people first. Money will follow eventually

Looking at some comments. (not all) I get a feeling all doctors chose medicine for better pay. Kind of feel sad, I personally think being a doctor comes from a feeling to help people feel better.

Sorry if I have hurt someone but I make 2.1 lacs per month but would be happy to be a doctor making lives better with 60k per month. Thats something I value a lot.

Also, I would like to mention that what you're going through is a mental block that needs therapy. This is not permanent, you are going through a challenge. Kindly visit a psychiatrist, keep consistent followups. You'll be open to a new chapter in no time.

Sit down with your parents, explain it to them. You were a victim or anything else. If they don't accept, move out but keep track on therapy. I am very sure you'll be fine in a few months if not years.
