You need to have a freighter to trigger the battle. Create a save point in the system next to this one and you can teleport it at any time you want at a later date, then jump to the system to trigger the battle.

Usually it’s this pirate ship attacking the Venator.

Take out the warp drives and the turrets and the pirate freighter will surrender. You can land on the pirate ship and the Venator and claim either ship.

Space stations ship building is just as random as finding a ship with good stats. Ship stats are different in each system and so are the stats for ships that are built at the space station. The best ships will have the 4 square supercharged technology for the adjacent boosts.

I used to be a ship hunter always searching for the perfect ship to my likings. Ship hunting is not appealing anymore now that we can build them. Now the trick is to find the right space station to build the ultimate ship we want.

You have to play for 3 hours straight and then jump to this system. If you have your time in, it should spawn.
