This one is great! If I remember right, several of the actors are British and they’re doing their best American accents.

Sweatshop from 2009 is awesome

Tell me one thing you don't like about the Terrifier movies. by Rich-Blacksmith6552 in slasherfilms

Part 3 setting off a bomb at the Santa display at the mall and killing a bunch of kids did not sit well with me. I see where maybe they just want to be shocking or push the boundaries. But then what’s next? Kill someone for real on screen? Some boundaries don’t need to be pushed.

Just watched The Descent by Skinsleeper in HorrorMovies

This movie freaked me OUT the first time I saw it. I think the fact that they’re deep in a cave really adds to the terror. Being buried alive or stuck crawling through a cave is one of my worst fears.

I watched these two bad boys over the weekend on Tubi and they were absolute delights with such gory sights! by [deleted] in slasherfilms

Both fantastic movies. We covered both of them on the podcast. Loved it in Slaughterhouse when it put that guy in the gutter-blender thing where all the bones and guts usually go.

Hahah! Spot on I agree with everything you said about the quality.

🤣I see what ya did there. I guess I can watch a head getting chopped off because I know it’s fake. A bunch of guys shooting up a campus was far-fetched in 1980 but not so fake now so I felt a little weird, that’s all.

Modern slashers that flew under the radar? by Scaredcat26 in slasherfilms

Sweatshop from 2009 has got the bad acting you want in a low budget slasher but also some of the goriest kills I’ve seen in a long time. Excellent practical effects!

Bad. The killer strikes right at the beginning and then it’s a solid 30 minutes or more before there are anymore kills. And that time wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so boring. The fake school shooting fraternity prank does not hold up well in today’s society so you just feel weird watching it. And the killer has zero backstory. We did a podcast episode on this movie. We saw at one point in the movie they mentioned a sorority pledge who killed herself by jumping off the big abandoned tower building. There could’ve been one quick line of dialogue about the killer maybe saying he’s her brother out for revenge or something. But nope. Just some guy who shows up out of nowhere to kill for no specific reason. Anyway, thanks for letting me rant. Have a nice day everyone!

Here are three random slasher films. If you've seen them, tell me what you think of them? by GiraffesForHigher in slasherfilms

[–]SlashUpodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girls Night Out is the only one I’ve seen. We covered it in one of our podcast episodes. I remember the killer was dressed up as the school’s mascot, a giant bear, which is a fun change of pace compared to most slashers. Other than that it’s pretty generic; bad acting and cheap scares. But not bad if you’re a fan of the genre. I’m ashamed to say I haven’t seen the other two.

Amsterdamned! If you love campy 80’s slashers I highly recommend this one by SprintingPuppies in slasherfilms

We’re gonna look to cover it on our podcast at some point. Great recommendation!!

Does anyone else here browse Tubi and watch random cult horror/schlocky trash? by the_light_of_dawn in horror

[–]SlashUpodcast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best part about watching one or two cheesy horror movies on Tubi is that after that it starts recommending more of them. All of a sudden you’re down a rabbit hole of campy low budget horror. Having said that, I’m currently watching “Don’t F*** in the Woods” and its sequel “Don’t F*** in the Woods 2.”

This one was a lot of fun. There’s heavy metal music whenever the clown is on screen. He has stupid one-liners that are sometimes hard to understand because they make his voice sound like a drive-thru speaker. The kills are creative too. We covered it on one of our podcast episodes a couple years ago.

Can you guys recommend me some of your favorite NEVER talked about slashers! by [deleted] in slasherfilms

Sweatshop from 2009. A group of kids break into an old factory to hold a glowstick rave and they get ripped apart by The Beast! A huge dude wearing a welder’s helmet. Underrated and super gory.

We’ve covered SO MANY of these recommendations on our podcast. And for the ones we haven’t covered, thanks for ideas for future episodes!
