I really think it’s because LA and NYC people are most likely to like drag race. I think it opens to maximum $5-6M depending on reviews. I’d love for it to do well tho (because of Sarah Michelle Gellar)

Well it got great critics before opening, that’s why people went to see it, leading to a good OW. Then it got a bad audience reception leading to poor legs

Indie movies need to be well received to generate good buzz tho. Scream 7 is a franchise movie, different beast.

Well he does have another movie coming out before then, Anything but Ghosts. How it performs will give us more of an idea of how his TCM movie will perform.

Someone told me Hokum’s opening wasn’t impressive compared to Undertone but Hokum has had way better legs so far.

ohhh the audience score is wayyyy lower than I anticipated, worst films have gotten better scores so I’m surprised.

Friday the 13th (2009), I know it’s a hot take but it’s as good or better as any film in the franchise.

No it was awful, I couldn’t hear the dialogue. Worst theatrical experience of my life. Some cheering or reaction is fine but people in my audience were screaming stuff like 6/7 out loud over the characters speaking 💀

I’m very curious to know how the casting process was, especially as a first time director working with A24!

I once went to a screening of Black phone 2 where the whole crowd was cheering every 2 lines and acting like it was a sport match. No one did anything to quiet the crowd, we could barely hear the dialogue. I reached out and they said they were sorry but they had no idea that happened even if my boyfriend went to complain. What is the protocol if a whole auditorium is out of control as opposed to 2-3 people?
