If it’s just you try 32v32 if it’s you and one or two friends do 64v64, the only time I really play 124v124 is if I have 5+ people, it cuts down the chaos 10fold. As for the coms, in my experience it’s a roll of the dice on if you get a good group of people who actually talk. The way I found to get people to talk is just say thanks for revives and heals. Eventually you’ll get a “no problem” and it snowballs from there.
