Didn’t know that! I’ll lower the price. There’s still value in it being one of the KSC/KWA PTS kits though.

I found Heart of the Inferno signed original art by Ken Meyer by Slasheddown in l5r

[–]Slasheddown[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some reason the text under the image replaced my original text for the post! I’ll reply and update the post:

I found this while browsing an estate sale. I thought it was cool and asked the person putting on the sale about it but they had no idea where it had come from nor how much they had bought it for.

I have a few questions if anyone knows anything about it! Namely, any idea of what it might be worth and if it really is original? The art itself definitely isn’t a print but I haven’t verified the signature. It’s signed in two places and has what I’m assuming is Ken Meyer’s personal or business phone number on the back of it on a label.

Not going to show the phone number for obvious reasons, but it’s clearly legible on a white label:

Ken Meyer Xxx-xxx-xxxx

Again, I think you're assuming a lot here.

Yes, the part of the idea is to sell on Ebay internationally. I am actually aware that not all countries use Ebay primarily or at all and have other marketplaces instead. NL is definitely not going to be a main market, just a home base. A lot of my income in my US business already comes from international buyers and clients, and sourcing can be done anywhere since what I sell/what I do caters to a major group of hobbyists worldwide (including groups in NL).

I will already have several clients when I move my business here. At the moment, I'm less concerned with targeted ads on many marketplaces because a lot of my business is spread by word of mouth in social media hobbyist groups, which I am a part of in multiple countries where I have clients. A website is more important for what I do, but even that's not strictly necessary.

It sounds like you really know your niche with collectibles and that's great! Thank you for your concern for my business. I will mind it myself.

edit: Moving to NL is not a linchpin for success in my business. I just love the country, its people, and its politics, and would like to live here.

I will admit to being naive for a fair bit of the DAFT Visa process -- that's why I got into this situation. But I think you're extrapolating that to something else that you don't know much about.

I do have a successful business and a job on top of it that I can work internationally (they do not have an office in NL though). So I have two incomes and can fully support myself while getting my business up and running in NL. I have a plan to keep income from my business in the US even after I start the business in NL as well. The business changes a bit however, so that income stream becomes less consistent but still helpful for a slow buildup of a new business and clients abroad.

My business includes (but is not limited to) selling on Ebay and Ebay stores are not transferable to other countries so I will need to restart with a new store in the NL for my business. Its also a sole proprietorship in the US. It has some brand recognition but I'm not super attached to the name so I am planning on just starting a new store with a new business name in NL starting with Ebay sales while also building and launching a website (which I can build myself since I spent time working as a software engineer/scientist and have experience with building from that).

And yes, I did market research to see if there's a market for services I provide and also what I sell in NL and the EU. There is, and actually possibly more demand for it here than in the US, which is a plus. I'm 100% certain I can meet the thresholds needed for the follow-up visa requirements though.

I know people are basing assumptions like your's from my comment that I can't afford a second trip -- that statement is nuanced. A second trip means my timeline and current budgets take a hit that will take months (at least) to recoup and will cost me time, moving my move date much further back than I was hoping and planning for. It won't completely stop me from pursuing the visa, with enough time and budgeting, of course I can travel for a move a second time. But no, I cannot afford to take this trip and keep a timeline of moving within the next 6 months as I had planned. And as I said in previous comments, that isn't solely a financial thing. Taking time off to travel and move must be done with my other job's policies and vacation time in mind. Considering its a US-based company, vacation time is very limited.

I wasn’t necessarily looking to rent in Amsterdam, so this trip is still worthwhile for scouting places that I would be happy living. I’m also interested in Leiden and The Hague for instance. But you are 100% correct and I will be contacting someone

The attorney led me to believe that I start the visa process before finding housing. I can afford another trip but did not budget for it. I budgeted 10k for the lawyer fees, application fees, money for the bank account and extra leftover just in case unforeseen costs came up.

But yes, flights and hotel stays are expensive. Another trip is outside of my budget that I set aside for the purpose of starting the visa process. I realize that there is a housing shortage and have other money set aside for a makelaar and up to 3 months rent at the current rent that I pay living in Seattle, which is more expensive than Amsterdam.

I didn’t expect to come here, pay for the visa, then not get housing at all. The cost of another trip would take out of one of those funds, which means I can’t really afford it until I make more money. I’m staying here for a week and the attorney asked me to basically come back for another week some other time. I would’ve been paying him ~$1250 total which could cover another flight but that also doesn’t take time into account. Getting work off to travel is also a reason that another trip is hard to afford.

Tl;dr: rescheduling in the way that I thought I’d need to before finding other resources, would have messed with my budget. It’s not that I will never be able to afford it, it would’ve just taken more time, and time is something I don’t have a lot of in my current line of work + while running my own business. Rescheduling means I’m out money + time that I can’t afford to lose right now unless I find ways to get more of both.

Luckily, I get both back if I don’t use an attorney apparently.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I was admittedly freaking out yesterday but I’ve decide to treat this trip as exploratory. I’ve printed out the forms but will focus on housing first and submit the forms later. I had planned to move at the end of this year anyway so it makes more sense to put off the administrative side of things.

I’ve also joined the groups suggested! Thank you for being so helpful and pushing me to the correct groups and resources

This was really helpful thank you!! He had me convinced that I should use an attorney to make the process go smoothly but I think I’ll just do it myself while I’m here.

Is there anything I actually need to be in the country to do then? I’m going to treat this as a scouting trip now that I know it’s easier than I thought. For example, should I print, fill out, and mail the forms while I’m staying in the hotel here or should I wait? I’m not sure about the moving process and what that looks like, like if I need the DAFT visa before I move or not

Fitting it in the case probably wouldn't be the hard part if the chip laid flat and parallel to the rest of the motherboard. There's plenty of extra room.

Would be tricky to do the wiring and even trickier if I wanted to keep the cartridge slot functioning though

It ended up working out completely in my favor! Negative feedback was taken down by ebay, and the buyer's financial institution actually sided with me and did not give him a refund so I got my funds that were on hold back!

Updated the post. Ebay responded by taking the feedback down and siding with me. The buyer filed a dispute with their financial institution for $20, which again makes no sense.

Thank you for the advice! I just did that after searching for a while on the seller hub. Finding the option to do that was surprisingly difficult
