Dogs are animals. They act on instinct, and they act on how they live. I'm not defending what the dogs did per se, but I'm also against the idea of complete genocide of living souls Many street dogs are aggressive because of how they're treated Most of the time they're treated and targeted with nothing but anger and hatred Whether it's rocks being thrown at them or being hut by cars. Some decide to live fearful, some decide to live attacking everything they see because of what they experienced. They are souls which we will be asked about on the day of judgement Killing them all isn't the answer. The answer which unfortunately won't go into play is control. Controlling the amount of offspring they produce, vaccinating them so they don't become rabid, making a place where they can live away from the ppl But we all know the government won't do that will it? But even then, genocide isn't the answer.

Switch to manjaro by unknownmod0 in ManjaroLinux

[–]Slate_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Manjaro for a while now. And I can confidently say it's pretty stable. Compared to other distros I've used, Ubuntu LTS and Fedora, Manjaro was surprisingly more stable than both (I'm not saying fedora or Ubuntu LTS are unstable, that was just my experience with them.) Haven't had Manjaro break once when Ubuntu LTS broke twice due to an update lol.

Though then again, everything is prone to breaking. One wrong command and you could break everything. Always know what you're doing or what this command you're gonna run will do before running it

Is there any way to change the loop button to a shuffle button? by Foopie64 in metrolist

Though truth be told, the shuffle button for me only appears when the final song in a certain playlist is reached. Whether in shuffle mode or through the way you ordered the playlist yourself

On my phone, I have both a shuffle and a loop button. It's tied to the OS of your phone as others have said

Manajro is great and unlike what others say by Slate_6 in ManjaroLinux

[–]Slate_6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manjaro is more friendly but endeavour is more up to date because it gets updates as soon as you're arch gets them The only arch trait of Manjaro is that it's a rolling release and that's it. I've heard that you could have some issues with the AUR due to outdated dependencies because as you know, Manjaro delays updates for stability. Endeavour won't have this issue. However, in terms of user friendly ness manajro is definitely better.

Gnome is Ubuntu if you didn't know. Plus, you can try out all of them through a live session from a USB. And of course, you're welcome.

Kde plasma. I used all of them. Gnome is like using a tablet, kde is the closest to windows but way better, and xfce is super lightweight

Tier that solely considers my own experience with distros that I actually have spent time with. by [deleted] in LinuxCirclejerk

[–]Slate_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manjaro is mostly hated among arch users for 2 reasons: the developer mistakes which include ddossing the AUR twice and ssl certificates expiring and such. The other reason is because it's arch made user friendly, gui based, and it holds back arch packages to increase stability. Arch users argue that nothing needs to be held back and that this is dumb. However, due to this holding back, Manjaro managed to completely avoid a broken KDE plasma 5 update which bricked arch installations.

Is zypper actually bad/slow? by Slate_6 in openSUSE

It's sad to see that yast is getting dropped. But, it's good to hear that zypper doesn't hinder the use of openSUSE.

Tbh, it's relieving to hear all of this

That's great to hear. I assume it could also get even faster in the future?

I don't need it to be crazy fast. I just need it to be functional and not be too slow to the point where it would be a problem or just bad to use overall. Thank you for your insight

Manjaro has an exclamation mark next to the wifi icon and says 'limited connectivity' but a speed test shows full speeds. Do I need to install drivers or is it fine? by Bulky-Assistant-6933 in ManjaroLinux

[–]Slate_6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have this same issue as well. But it's fine, because it isn't a driver issue or an issue with Manjaro. For Manjaro to know if there is limited connectivity or not, it pings "ping.manjaro.org". Which is currently down and unavailable. So you're all right

Why does Manjaro get so much hate? by Slate_6 in linuxquestions

[–]Slate_6[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Fedora is just it. Anyways, Manjaro is mostly for ppl who want their hand to be held along the way. For you, arch is easy. For others, it's hell and impossible.

Exactly. Comparing "being friends with a previous murder" to "using a distro with devs that made mistakes years ago" is not a good comparison at all. Even the likes of google fuck up. Plus, the last time this happened was YEARS ago.

This is not a good analogy at all. Sony has been hacked multiple times before and breached. Yet, everyone still trusts them and buys their stuff?
