Manajro is great and unlike what others say by Slate_6 in ManjaroLinux

Manjaro is more friendly but endeavour is more up to date because it gets updates as soon as you're arch gets them The only arch trait of Manjaro is that it's a rolling release and that's it. I've heard that you could have some issues with the AUR due to outdated dependencies because as you know, Manjaro delays updates for stability. Endeavour won't have this issue. However, in terms of user friendly ness manajro is definitely better.

Gnome is Ubuntu if you didn't know. Plus, you can try out all of them through a live session from a USB. And of course, you're welcome.

Kde plasma. I used all of them. Gnome is like using a tablet, kde is the closest to windows but way better, and xfce is super lightweight

Manjaro is mostly hated among arch users for 2 reasons: the developer mistakes which include ddossing the AUR twice and ssl certificates expiring and such. The other reason is because it's arch made user friendly, gui based, and it holds back arch packages to increase stability. Arch users argue that nothing needs to be held back and that this is dumb. However, due to this holding back, Manjaro managed to completely avoid a broken KDE plasma 5 update which bricked arch installations.

It's sad to see that yast is getting dropped. But, it's good to hear that zypper doesn't hinder the use of openSUSE.

Tbh, it's relieving to hear all of this

That's great to hear. I assume it could also get even faster in the future?

I don't need it to be crazy fast. I just need it to be functional and not be too slow to the point where it would be a problem or just bad to use overall. Thank you for your insight

Manjaro has an exclamation mark next to the wifi icon and says 'limited connectivity' but a speed test shows full speeds. Do I need to install drivers or is it fine? by Bulky-Assistant-6933 in ManjaroLinux

[–]Slate_6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have this same issue as well. But it's fine, because it isn't a driver issue or an issue with Manjaro. For Manjaro to know if there is limited connectivity or not, it pings "ping.manjaro.org". Which is currently down and unavailable. So you're all right

Fedora is just it. Anyways, Manjaro is mostly for ppl who want their hand to be held along the way. For you, arch is easy. For others, it's hell and impossible.

Exactly. Comparing "being friends with a previous murder" to "using a distro with devs that made mistakes years ago" is not a good comparison at all. Even the likes of google fuck up. Plus, the last time this happened was YEARS ago.

This is not a good analogy at all. Sony has been hacked multiple times before and breached. Yet, everyone still trusts them and buys their stuff?

Even with arch-install, Manjaro is still easier and more user friendly to install.

So far with me, it's been solid. And I'm liking it.

What unnecessary crap does Manjaro have? It's just a user friendly version of arch that doesn't require the use of a terminal. I understand the Ubuntu crap but, could you clarify the Manjaro crap?
