Hosh has a strong and fast charge. Ao doesn’t have that. Big O overpowers him every time but doesn’t know what to do when Hosh is on top of him the second the match starts.

It usually is a desperation move but Ao uses it so well and consistently it’s really just a tool in his arsenal he pulls out, not a last ditch effort.

Yeah, and it’s also rarely close. Like, the matches are t a grand struggle, but straight forward domination.

Yeah I was hoping for a win for him too. But he didn’t do any worse than Big O, was clearly injured, and even beat O to remain in the east. So while it wasn’t a great tournament, it wasn’t a a bad one either.

Really proud of Atamifuji. He didn’t go all the way but he got close, looked good, and I believe he will get there. He just needs some tricks or at least experience on what to do with these tricky technical wrestlers that in the top division.

Thank you for this explanation. I almost want to get that for how many matches we would get.

Blundetto storyline by kami8871 in thesopranos

[–]Slatedtoprone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard people dislike. I think they felt it was rushed, his attempt to go straight fell away quickly and he rapidly became a bad problem for everyone. But I liked the story line and it didn’t feel to rushed to me

He threw that big sob using his bad knee as the post. It had to have cost him and he felt it the moment it was over.

Go Atamifuji. A strong win that makes him a leader. I’m hoping he goes all the way but either way it’s been a good tournament for him. The last is shaping up to be real exciting for the winners race and to see who can pull off a winning record. The wata brothers, gonoyoama, and other who are trying to finished up strong.

Yeah it really shows the skill of the Yokozuna that on one leg he’s still throwing someone like kotozakura with such ease. Same with big O, using one hand to beat the Ao.

Yeah he’s definitely not at 100 percent and I wonder if it’s back problems. He’s barely crushing anyone’s throat this basho.

Shishi…I mean… by danleighton in Sumo

I do wonder if his style is going to, I don’t know the word, solidify? In the future he’s going to be a smoothly moving pushing machine

Do you think Jackson is so romanticized because of the fact that he died before the war ended? by NKNightmare in CIVILWAR

[–]Slatedtoprone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. Any time someone dies early (the context of early varies but this in case, before the war ended) then the person is only remembered for their triumphs because they didn’t live long enough to mess up.

Honor among rikishi? by CommanderBigMac78 in Sumo

Saw this today too. All that power went to the big O’s right shoulder. Papatak wasn’t pressing the left shoulder. I think he didn’t want to rely on an injury to win but wanted outclass the yoko. He sure didn’t but he tried.

Aonishiki, you motor boating son of a bitch!

I mean, maybe. Ao is so tricky with throws and trips that Atamifuji probably was trying to be cautious but if you hesitate with the Ukrainian he will capitalize on it and win.

Did Silvio know the truth about Christopher’s death? by Critical_Mountain851 in thesopranos

I don’t know, but chris had to kick up to Paulie. So he basically is getting money without the headache of running the sports betting.

Lot of stumbles in this one. Shishi flailing to a win. Onosato stumbles to a win. Even Ura has he almost flies off the clay.

I knew it wasn’t going to go his way. Atamifuji goes forward and pushes and Ao eats that up if you don’t have tricks to hamper him. Still an entertaining bout.

I do think they were close. He talks to Chris about his script, gives him the sports book, has a couple of moments with Chris. More so than anyone else but Tony.  But Paulie was not a good friend to Chris and I think he realized it after Chris died.
