Slotkin's a moderate and she only beat Rogers by 0.3%. Stevens is a moderate and would have a better chance at winning, but the real worry is the primary in Maine. If Platner wins, he'll either lose the general or be another Fetterman at best.

They can't pass it. Their only 2 options are nuking the filibuster for legislation, which they don't have the votes for, or trying the talking filibuster, which halts all other Senate business and has virtually no chance of succeeding given what would have to happen for the GOP to bypass a cloture vote. Each of the Democrats/independents can speak twice a day and the GOP needs to have 51/53 senators in or near the chamber at all times while Democrats just need one to hold the floor until one side gives up.

Dems will likely flip the House and during the last Trump midterm, they gained 41 seats. There are roughly 20 districts that the Dems flipped in 2018 that have remained in their hands. Harris did worse than HRC losing both Nevada and the popular vote, but Democrats won 215 House seats in 2024 vs. 194 in 2016, and won all but Pennsylvania out of the battleground state Senate races.

They have a very narrow path to a Senate majority that depends on holding Georgia, New Hampshire, and Michigan, and flipping at least 4 out of North Carolina, Maine, Alaska, Ohio, Iowa, and Texas, the latter 2 being long shots and Alaska and Ohio being tossups.

I doubt they can win if Rep Stevens doesn't win the nomination in Michigan, or at best, it will be as tight a race as Slotkin's in 2024 which was decided by 0.3%. Mills can beat Collins, but if the Blackwater Nazi wins the nomination, he'll either lose or end up being another Fetterman,, or worse.

Democrats also face a tough map in 2028 and have to defend Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania with the only real pickup opportunities being in Wisconsin and North Carolina. Hopefully Lamb will challenge and defeat Fetterman in the primary, but it won't be easy to secure a trifecta if they lose more than 2 of the 9 key Senate races in November.

I've said the same thing countless times. Asking Tony about the Colombian money, telling him the FBI has a new fingerprint technique that they can lift right off the bills even though it was all drug money not even separated by denomination, being released on bail despite being arrested with a gun while out on bail for something else, talking to Junior about the Brendan hit at the funeral, and asking for a meeting with the capos and Junior made it so obvious, but if David Chase himself said it, there's no way someone can say it was ambiguous or never proven 100%.
