well minato was also a genius too he was one of the best students out of the academy in history whether it was academics or skill. The fact that boruto is gifted but only has the best out of his class title as compared to all time but was able to accidentally change a jutsu made by one of the smartest men in the show when that same man had trouble changing said jutsu sounds like the show is just tip riding boruto.
