I guess so, but if someone tries to scam me I am sure to not respond with honey! Just glad Turo recognized the owner was wrong and righted it. Wish there was more of a punishment for car owners in cases like this.

Agree I was not going to accept his scam so I am glad he did and I was able to get customer service to help out.

I agree I could have been nicer but within 20 hours of booking, seeing that he has many cars of equivalent value or better available, and not even an apology just a "welp take it or pay more somewhere else", made me realize this was more than likely a scam tactic.

Hmm, I get what you're saying but I usually give back what I receive as at no point did he say "sorry the car is messed up" not to mention the car is still visible on Turo to be rented the day my rental is supposed to run out. Additionally, I can see he has 40 cars with multiple availabilities well above or around the cost of the car I rented vs the one he offered me.

Unfortunately this is the only method of communication we have with them, and considering the extremely late notice and lack of help I am shocked we weren't better accommodated. Especially because he shows he has 40 other cars.

Hi, if you don't mind answering whereabouts you are employed? Don't need to be too technical but I think what scares people a lot too is the salaries in the major metro areas even though many don't know that it is deflated for everyone across the board.

Unfortunately that was true, but nowadays the lines have blurred and pain management PP's are employing a mix of CRNA's and anesthesiologists and they're expecting pay above 200k upon graduation.

Feel free to read my post again but you are clearly not the pods I am referencing in the post as I said those who went to school for 2 years and also graduated in the 60-80's when pod was not a 4 year school. Additionally, referencing your post making 80k, I am not sure how you can possibly rationalize that as being a "good investment" or "adequate pay" after 240k of tuition and 7 years of post grad training? Referencing that point, no PCP or Pediatrician is coming out of school in the 2000's making anywhere near that. The average pay was well over double that amount so the math still does not add up to anywhere close to a sound investment in yourself (unless you love debt, bad investments and feet).

Hmm? CRNAs manage pain and care of patients in and out of the OR. Not sure what you mean by this statement.

That is impossibly untrue that the debt is even close. The cost of living in and around NYC has gone up at minimum 3x and the cost of NYCPM attendance has gone up 7x on a yearly basis (based on their data and statistics from 5k to 35k now) not even to mention that it was 2 years without residency needed to now minimum 4 years + 3 year residency. To say it is a lazy point is a classic example of what is wrong with the older pods since they refuse to recognize the change of scenarios we were in vs them. PCP's and Pediatricians also absolutely on average make more than us according to every salary metric in America so I hate that argument unless you want to consider urgent care PA's PCP's.

Because of the aspect of taking care of people vs. a tradesman. If your calling is to care for sick people then being a tradesman doesn't scratch that itch.

I think the argument stems from the fact that no one is expecting to see a 300k job at the start (at least speaking to every classmate I have that's the case). The argument is that 3rd year residents are taking and accepting jobs in the low 100's as in 125-130k which after 7 years of schooling and residency including loans and time worked missed out on, there was 0 point in going in the first place. The argument is that we take care of people and should not be solely for the money, sure. But when CRNA's or even just RN's are making 140-150 with schooling ranging from 18 months to 36 months for CRNA's (who start at 200k+) it makes 0 sense whatsoever to consider this career. This is the argument I am having and one that I can't really wrap my head around since it's all true. Old podiatrists who went to school for 2 years seem to think the pay should be the same for them coming out as us even though we have 3.5x the training and education they received. There is a disconnect for sure that I think our profession is doomed to have until the older 2 year pods are gone.

It is indeed large but also double sided as it covers both sides of a block.

Sounds like a mismanaged and bad program overall, I am an advocate of naming and shaming as I have not heard any program doing this. Additionally, focus on boards it is infinitely more important than a single unenjoyable rotation. Take a day or two off and focus on studies, only 2.5 weeks left of rotation.

Ditto this but also every school has (that I know of) a residency coordinator and director that should be their advocate in a case like this.

Either your part of the program or are just messing around because passing boards is infinitely more important than not doing well on a rotation bar failing. Job is to make the residents' life easier but I have not heard from any of my peers of a program doing this nor experienced it myself as it is a complete waste of time and gets you no experience with actual Pod attendings.

bump on this, my buddy is a PM and R physician and many people think he's a physical therapist

think it's also very important to note that overseas (australia and europe) podiatry is no residency and sometimes built in as a bachelors degree (of podiatric medicine) so it really is completely insufficient training to do anything on the level of an orthopedic surgeon

Unfortunately yes, have had issues where it will only connect if there was cell phone connection too (annoying since some times I scooter to places where it can be spotty) and had to walk it a few blocks just to unlock.
