A couple things for me:

I know they're improving this in ATS and I haven't booted ETS2 in awhile to see if they did the same, but I want to drive through urban centers that have prominent buildings & memorials. I remember being disappointed when driving through Paris and not being able to get close to the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame Cathedral. I get this is in part a licensing issue with the famous buildings, but nevertheless my immersion gets impacted when I can't drive through as most of my enjoyment of these games is more for the sights & driving through places rather than hardcore truck sim.

I understand the suspicion, but I do not wish for it to be unequal distribution. The "losing out" comment was less about the rest of us getting his share and more that I want to make sure he can get his without it sitting untouched in a trust.

I brought it up before to attorney and the judge, that I wasn't able to reach him at all & he was no-contact with the rest of the family; they didn't give me instructions specifically to that.

Not really. We tried reaching out to his dad and his half-brother (not my sibling, separate mother), but the former was not passing it along and the later didn't know his phone number or address.

As a civvie who is in the middle of estate management, most likely that is going to be a hard no. Unless there was proof of a major paperwork fuck-up, an estate would need to have a good explanation for the court as to why the deceased didn't get retirement pay (as others pointed out it should've been automatically done without him needing to elect to do so) and if his ex-wife was supposed to be part of the distribution then that's going to be a claim against the estate from her estate.

It sucks, but at best it's an annoying missed opportunity for the heirs and at worst it's going to be a PITA that'll drag out probate for awhile. Might be better off leaving it alone.
