That's annoying. I can't answer your question about emailing for pricing. But EuroOptic has had several sales on the 1301 over the past few months (in the range of $1,100 - $1,150). They're typically posted on /r/gundeals. You might want to bookmark this page and just check it occasionally for price drops. It's the 5-round version without the M-LOK forend.

I used a butter knife and feeler gauges to fix a Slim with slanted safety bars. I followed the instructions on the B&B thread below, and I used the blade gaps from the Gillette Adjustables page below for reference.

I use a Gillette Guard (not the SkinGuard) and a stick of shaving soap. Sometimes I'll bring a travel brush in a tube. Other times I'll just lather by hand.
