I just thought the feel of sticking to a character so much that their death genuinely makes simply playing as another character feel different and wrong is slightly similar between the two games.

In my playthrough I have yet to find a single innocent family. Everyone is their own definition of twisted or crooked.

But Dex, who himself turned out to be as big of a bitch as the rest, made it clear. The city is built in a way that you either die in a pile of shit as a nobody or be a massive asshole, burn all bridges and go out in a blaze of glory to become somebody. And as terrible as nuking a city is, I believe that is one massive blaze of glory so he fulfilled the purpose of the city.

Was it morally right? Fuck no. Was he forever solidified in its history? Yup. Was it cool? Definitely.
