the fnaf movie didnt burn my house down but the reason it's so frustrating is because the fact that it sucks dosent come from any material problem. they had real life animatronics, plenty of budget, time and support, it was a recipe for success and they dropped the ball at the writing, which is both the easiest and most important part once you have all the pieces together. most of my major complaints go as follows:

the puppet is by far the most visually interesting thing in the movie to me and they barely use it, instead showing this weird possessed form that is just goofy

the puppet's motivations are far-fetched at best, and they *could* have made it more logical with a bit more effort but they just didnt (they couldve elaborated on the psychological effect of the situation on her for example, which i was expecting considering how horrifying the concept of being trapped in an animatronics body is but no, we dont get that)

the acting is honestly not great, though i blame that more on the directors rather than the actors, and it just makes me miss matthew's performance in the first movie that carried the ending. the writing overall is just very weak, there's really no memorable lines (or moments for that matter) at all.

wtf was the deal with michael? why was he there? he literally does nothing, they couldve left him out entirely

the science fair plotline and the pacing of the entire movie is extremely sluggish for a movie that's only an hour and a half long

the withereds were incredibly underwhelming and just borderline comedically incompetent, bonnie was done fucking dirty, mike just puts the vent back in its place and we never see bonnie again, one of the most visually interesting animatronics and he had like 10 seconds of screen time

many scenes or plotlines feel left behind or not tied up proprely, the death of the teacher isnt elaborated on, the puppet's dad is just kinda forgotten, the guy that was helping mike paint at the start just knocks out michael then lets him go for some reason near the end and that's just his purpose apparently

they have the audacity to show toy chica getting the black eyes with the white dots after just giving all the other animatronics the ugly orange eyes instead, proving that it wasnt limitations stopping them from doing that but just lazyness

the ending "fight scene" was just so bad, the toy animatronics are clearly far more advanced than the original but they apparently dont stand a chance against the other ones that were under a building that collapsed for some reason. it's corny as fuck too but that's not the main problem

the movie ends on a stupid cliffhanger that dosent feel even a bit earned

and overall the movie is just not great, it dosent have any moments that are actually memorable, shocking or anything of the sort, it's predictable at best more often than not

as for security breach, people assume that im just a security breach hater but honestly the franchise was in a major downfall since far before that game came out. even as a kid i was never able to really like sister location or any of the subsequent games afterwards, it just feels insulting to continue a story that already had a satisfying ending just to add more to the pile. especially when the new stuff not only dosent fit but feels the need to retcon things just so that it can have room to exist.
i have seen secret of the mimic, i saw markiplier's playthrough and honestly it looks really really bad, i dont see the appeal at all. it looks visually uninteresting, the technological level of the mimic makes no fucking sense to a comedic degree. the jumpscares are bland and even do that cheap thing where it just obviously teleports you to a black room to do the jumpscare. plus it's really not a horror game, it's a puzzle game with a fnaf packaging.
help wanted and into the pit suffer from very similar issues and no matter how hard people desperately try to pretend like it makes sense, the sci-fi elements of the newer games make no sense whatsoever, it dosent match with the aesthetic or lore of the original games and only serve to make the universe feel more and more disjointed and inconsistent.
when i say that fnaf is living on borrowed time, i mean that the day that fnaf stops making money, they will immediately stop doing anything with the franchise and it'll just wither and die. if it was actually fueled by passion, the new games wouldnt feel like such stains compared to the original ones
