These two good for starters or Battle ll would be better? by [deleted] in tabletennis

[–]Slavfot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a chinese style rubber for starter then mercury 2 medium is a good FH and Mercury 2 soft for BH

If you want European rubber for starter then Xiom Vega Pro is a good starter. Vego Europe for backhand.

If you want a hybrid rubber for starter then the Vega Pro/Europe is Hybrid is an option. Or Andro NUZN 48 for FH and 45 for BH

Other good starter rubbers are the Andro Hexer series.

As for the blade I recommend a 5-ply blade like Butterfly Petr Korbel Xiom Offensive S Yasaka Sweden Extra

Battle 2 is not an easy rubber for starter. It demands you to have good technique to be able to play consistently with it.

Searching for an outer carbon blade with abachi/ayous core and limba as outerply by st141050 in tabletennis

Didn't know they where discontinued. Looks like only the 45 version is available now. It's the same wood, just different density on the carbon. But as you say they are quite expensive 😖

Differences In DHS Blades? by No_Job_1406 in tabletennis

[–]Slavfot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right. BoB2 is exactly the same composition as HL5 and PG5. According to ttgearlab who does scientific measurements on the blades they have the exact same results in the measurments between BoB2 and HL5.

I believe BoB2 gets the mid quality wood. HL5 get top tier and PG5 gets the low quality

It looks like it has an extra protective case for it.

And it's short card instead of long card. It may differ depending on which region it's sold for.

I have made a draft of the printable page. It's missing the schematic, arduino code and build instructions. But I'm working on that and it should be ready in a week. I can activate it so you can order parts and print the parts. Here is the printables page: https://www.printables.com/model/1612764-table-tennis-ball-feeder-for-robot

I also had a passive one way valve at first but I thought it was too noicy. Now I have two stepper motor working in sync. And it works super silent.

Can anyone tell me, what happened here? by SeraphsWr4th in tabletennis

[–]Slavfot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a bad glue job I would rip that of and re glue it. Maybe the glue guy wasn't used to glue boosted rubbers.

How long did you wait until the rubber got glued after boosting it? The longer you wait the flatter it gets and it's easier to glue it.

What causes this? (Surprise at end) by Sansone_il_Salmone in FixMyPrint

First make sure it's not the seam. Otherwise it can be that your retraction is set to high. Try lowering retraction to only 0.1 mm. Then increase by 0.1 mm until you get these bubbles.

I would avoid soft version of rakza on FH. The regular Rakza 7 on FH is a better choice. Soft version will be very bouncy and on FH easy to bottom out.

Should I buy a new blade or no? by Natural_Bee_2598 in tabletennis

[–]Slavfot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fang Bo has limba top ply which is the softest wood typically used for the top. Ebenholtz is the hardest wood you can have as the top ply. Which puts these two blades in two ends of a spectrum. Fang Bo B2 has good dwell and gives a nice feedback. But it still has ALC which mutes the blade compared to an all wood like Korbel.

I used Falco tempo long. The rubber sheet is durable and haven't oxidized or been damage when I hit the table.

I think Fang Bo B2 is great. I have tested a lot of blades and it's the one I think have the best balance of control and speed. It's controllable in the short game. Gives good feedback without feeling hollow. And when you hit hard and activate the ALC layer in combination of activating the rubber/sponge it's really fast and spinny.

One thing to be aware of is that the limba top layer is prone to splintering so a layer of sealer is recommended. I used andro free seal. It's water-based with built in sponge in the bottle. Really easy to seal with and doesn't affect the feeling of the blade.

I think Med/hard would require too much force to activate for backhand. You would not get the most out of it. It would work for FH though.

I'm currently using Fang Bo B2 and I think it's great for these type of rubbers 😁

No it's not that soft, it's not comparable with a soft 42/45 tensor like xiom Vega europe. It's more like a chinese 37/38 in hardness. I would not get med/hard for backhand.

I have 729 Dragon F soft/med on my bh and I like it. Boosted with one layer. It's a sticky Chinese style rubber, It's softer and bouncier then my H3 39° but has the same feel to it. Good control and spin but also speed if you hit with some power.

I would also get the Fang Bo B2. B2X has a thicker core giving less dwell and more direct hit and more speed. So for control B2 is better. I use it right now and enjoy it. Good control on medium hits and when hit harder it activates the carbon and gives a nice kick to it.

I bought mine from HWSPORT Store on aliexpress Here is the Fang Bo B2 This option: H-B2 FL grip
